Janice reached into the container and pulled out a pill that had engraved over it, 'Reynard, Therianthropic, Five Years Old, Male'.
In truth, Janice had enough with being female. She was tired of the unpleasant feeling she experienced once a month, the way boys stared at her and apparently wanted one thing for her. She was tired of being the stereotypical blonde bimbo everyone expected of her. Sure, she wasn't as smart as Oliver, but she did have some level of intelligence.
Downstairs she could hear a door slamming and thought that it was probably her mother; Oliver never slammed doors. Looking at the pill, Janice saw that it was dark red with black dots at one end and white dots at the other.
Wishing that Oliver was home so that he could explain what Therianthropic meant, she thought and weighed over the possibilities of not only being a boy, but also someone named Reynard. In the end, the argument that she was sick of being a girl won out and she popped the pill in her mouth, wondering if they actually turned you into what was advertised or if this was going to be something like an acid trip, where she imagined she was only a five year old boy.
The moment the pill hit Janice's stomach, she felt a burning sensation begin to creep over her body. Within minutes, she was doubled over in pain as the transformation began.
Her nose and mouth merged together and then pushed outward into a snout. As this occurred, her ears became more pointed and started to move up her head. Next Janice began to shrink until she stood about three foot six. Next to go was her feminine figure and as the pounds melted away, she swore she could hear someone coming up the stairs.
As her body slimmed down to about forty two pounds, an odd sensation swept over her genitalia. As the feeling intensified, her clitoris merged with her urethra and pushed out into a small penis. As the fur began to grow over her body, Janice heard a knocking first on her brothers door and then hers.
Trying to say something, she only managed to grunt out in pain. As the bedroom door swung open and she could hear her mom calling out in alarm, Janice realized that the transformation was almost over.
Standing on digitigrade paws, she looked into the mirror as the memories of the past five years of her life filled in. Suddenly Janice realized that Reynard must not be so much a name, but the classification on the male of the species. In the mirror, Janice could see the young fox reflected back and also understood the word Therianthropic; basically an animal that has human features.
Realizing that her name was no longer Janice, but James, he turned to his mother, the one who given birth to him, he opened his snout and said the first thing that came naturally, "Mama."
As his mother fainted, it was then he heard the second set of feet coming up the stairs and sniffing the air James could tell that is was his older sister Olivia. Coming up to the door with an unknown woman, Olivia asked, "What happened to mom? Did you scare her again James?"
James, who was now only wearing an oversized shirt with the rest of the clothes pooled at his feet, could only grin sheepishly at her older sister.
