You're at the carnival with some of your friends. It's the first night that you've been able to come and you're determined to enjoy yourself. You see that they have a fortune teller and decide to have your fortune told. Your friends make fun of you for wanting to have your fortune told but you just smile and go into the tent.
When you enter the fortune teller looks at you and says "Hello dear, I've been waiting for you."
"You have?" you ask.
"Oh yes I have" the fortune teller says. "I knew that you would come and seek me out. You have an open mind. I'll give you a little something for coming to see me."
"What is it?" you ask. "Is it a free reading?"
"It's something much more valuable" the fortune teller said. "It is something that will make your life interesting."
"Well I could use some excitement" you say.
"Oh you'll get some" the fortune teller said. "You'll have all the excitement you want. Now hold out your hand."
You do as the fortune teller said and she drops a ring into your hand. You look at the ring in your hand. You couldn't tell what type of metal it was made of but it looked very old. There was weird engravings on the outside. It looked like some kind of language though you couldn't read it. There was a stone in the center of an oval. You couldn't tell what it was since the color kept changing. As you looked at it you could feel a strange energy coming from the
ring.
"Now put that ring on your middle finger of your dominate hand" the fortune teller said.
You did so and discovered that the ring was a perfect fit. "It's neat and looks very old" you say. "I don't see how this ring will bring excitement into my life though."
"That ring is the Ring of Truth" the fortune teller said. "Whenever you speak it will be the truth, except in answer to a question. If what you say isn't the truth then the ring will alter reality to make it the truth. No one can take that ring from you but you can give it to someone and it's power will pass to that person. You will always be able to make the ring work even if you are unable to speak and even if you're not wearing it. Now go and have some fun."
The fortune teller looks back down at her crystal ball and you leave the tent. Outside you go over to your friends and then look back at the tent. It was gone.
"Did you guys see what happened to the tent?" you ask.
They all answer that they didn't and you shrug it off. You continue to enjoy the carnival with your friends.
Now who are you and what do you do with the ring?
