Upon returning back to the dorm, Todd looks in his drawer and finds one of the prototypes of the remote. It doesn't contain all of the features of the original remote, but would be able to both fool that crotchety old librarian, Ms. Crowshaw, and make Carrie not a statue. Printing a school label from his computer, he taped it on to the back of the remote and tinkered further. This new one would only respond to his touch. For anyone else to use it, they have to give a DNA sample to the remote and be hit by a special beam by Todd.
Todd emerged from his dorm room at about 10PM, when the grounds in front of the library were empty. Upon walking from the building, he immediately noticed Carrie the Statue still on the grass with a couple of pidgeons on her head.
"Shoo! Shoo!" said Todd, trying to get the birds away from his parter-in-crime's head.
The birds fled, but one left a 'surprise' on Carrie's head. Upon scanning her, he discovered she had been self-aware the entire time, so she knew. While no one was looking, he took a marker and drew a mustache, glasses, beard, and buck teeth on Carrie's face and made it look like her nipples were hard on her chest.
He snickered and pushed the "Undo" button on the remote, returning her to form. Losing her balance, she immediately fell onto the grass as Todd laughed uncontrollably.
"Not funny!" she said angrily, pulling herself up and wiping her face and shirt off with a napkin in her pocket she had when she was still a nerd.
"Yeah," he said, still laughing, "yeah, it is!"
While he wasn't looking, she took the remote from him and desperately looked around the settings.
"Let's see how funny being a mutant 5-year-old girl is!"
Todd stood for a moment, then immediately burst out laughing.
Carrie was bewildered and looked back at the remote.
"Sorry, Care!" he said, wiping his eye, chuckling, "But the remote only responds to me!"
Carrie had a look of defeat on her face, but shrugged.
"Whatever. I just want to go take a shower and change. It's freezing out here!"
"C'mon," said Todd, putting the remote in his pocket. "You can use the shower at my dorm."
