"No, it doesn't look like it. Only your body, clothes and voice. I can adjust it so you like your new look, though."
"Don't you dare," Sam scowled. Trish only laughed.
Suddenly, the remote's LCD shut off. "What?" Tricia's face dropped into alarm. Sam repeated the sentiment.
The LCD momentarily blinked "BATTERY LOW. POWERING OFF." Then it went completely dead.
"Oh no," Trish complained. She flipped the remote over and opened the battery panel. To their relief, they saw two standard AAs. "At least it doesn't run on magic jewels or something," Trish sighed. "I was going to keep you in those clothes for a while anyway, but now I feel guilty. I'm sorry about this."
"A deal's a deal," Sam said. "It's fine. I can change my clothes, at least, once I have the chance. At least we didn't get to the part where I turn into an animal."
"How do you feel?"
Sam thought it over for a minute. She shrugged her frilly arms. "Black."
Trish giggled. "You do have a bit of a monochromatic thing going on there."
"Doesn't it look dreary?"
"Actually, you look...strangely dignified. I'd guess a real outfit like that would cost over a thousand dollars."
"You didn't program the remote to make the rest of the world accept this, by any chance, did you?"
"It wasn't a change I figured would cause panic or anything. I mean, you're just dressed up. I didn't even change the 'Acceptance' settings when you were turned into a kid. Look, I'll go to the nearest store. You can wait here if you want."
Trish started walking away, but Sam grabbed her with a gloved hand. "No, I want to come."
"Looking like that? In broad daylight? Are you sure?"
"What harm could it do? No one will recognize me."
"Wow, you really have changed. The Sam I know wouldn't be caught dead in that getup."
"This'll be faster. And frankly, the prospect of staying in this alley by myself seems more dangerous than appearing in public."
"I suppose you're right. If anybody bothers us, I'll just say you're on your way to do a show."
Samantha gratefully took Tricia's hand as they walked out of the alley.
