Suddenly, the door opened, and in walked a attractive woman in her late twenties, dressed in a plain jeans and a loose shirt. She had dark hair bound up in a scarf, and wore enough tacky jewelry for five other women.
She looked at the rapidly-changing Francisco and the boys, with the book. "Francisco?" she asked, her question trailing off as she stared at the chimp.
Rage exploded within her. She turned to the boys. "So, you two little gringos think to use magic on my fiance?"
"But, but, but." said one of them.
"Save it." she spat. "Learn your folly now, from a true bruja!" She raised her arms. "Hear me, oh great Shining One! Let these two learn justice for their evil. I cast my curse on them - let them know what they have dealt!"
Red mist shot forth from her hands, entwining the two. Ric dropped the book and howled in pain. He began to shrink, and felt fur erupt all over his body, as did his friend. Their muscles and limbs contorted, and tails erupted from their backsides. In short order, a beagle and a tabby cat were there instead of the two boys. Before they could move, Inez walked over and grabbed them both by the scruff of their necks.
She smiled in an evil way. "Oh, don't worry. This isn't permanent, unlike what you did to poor Francisco! But you're going to have an interesting couple of hours, I'd say." With that, she opened the door with her foot and tossed them both out.
She then gathered the book and the chimp's hand, and set about trying to figure out how to undo what the foolish gringos had done.
