Joey raised his hand. He got on the stage, and everyone looked at him. Everyone could see something was wrong. His clothes were baggy, his skin was pale, and he wore a hat way too low.
Stephan came forward. "And what is it you wish?"
In answer, Joey pulled off his jacket and hat. There was a gasp from several people in the audience. He was completely bald, and his eyebrows were missing as well. His arms were like sticks, his chest was sunken, and he looked very ill. "I'm on chemotherapy." He finally said.
There were mutters from the audience. Madame Illusia came forward and addressed him herself. "I'm sorry. My transformations will not cure your cancer."
He shook his head. "No. Just give me a day. A day when I'm healthy and strong, so I can do the things I loved to do. To say good bye to the people I knew, without them pitying me. Leukemia's is taking away my life. Give me one day back."
She smiled. "That I can do. prepare yourself."
Joey closed his eyes. Madame Illusia raised her wand, and drew symbols in the air around Joey. The symbols glowed brighter and brighter, and Joey was enveloped in light.
Joey felt the light enter him. Warmth replaced the usual chill he felt these days. The warmth spread through his body like slow wave, until he felt almost hot. The warmth was like a living thing inside him, and he could feel it pressing at his extremities, like it was trying to escape.
He felt energized, like he had had a gallon of coffee. His labored breathing became easier, slower. The warmth subsided, and Joey opened his eyes, and the light of the symbols faded.
He was a new man. He looked down, and saw a different body. He had a massive chest, firm and defined abs, and heavily muscled legs. His arms were huge, large biceps and triceps becoming thick and strong forearms. Stephan gave him a mirror.
He was overjoyed. His hair, a long thick mane of brown hair, had returned, the sickly look was gone in his face, he looked positively glowing with health. His shoulders were huge, as well. "Wow!" he claimed.
He reached over and grabbed Madame Illusia in a bear hug, lifting her up. After a few seconds, he put her down. "Thank you!" he almost yelled. He lifted his head and yelled, "Woo hoo!" With that, he jumped off the stage, and took off in a run, completely forgetting about the hat and jacket. He didn't care, however. He felt estatic, strong, and ready to go out and get things done.
Stephan picked up the hat and jacket, folded them neatly, and put then to one side.
