Upon exiting the mall, you find yourself back in unfamiliar territory. The streets are completely new to you, and as you walk around, you notice there are people with some very unusual bodies, much like those you saw in the mall. Was this some sort of parallel dimension, or had your world suddenly taken a turn into the Twilight Zone?
You remember this all started when you went into that mysterious park. You head back toward it and begin walking around inside. You make sure to backtrack your steps exactly, eventually making your way out once more.
To your relief, you spot familiar landmarks and signposts instantly. No one in sight has grass for hair or leopard spots. Just to make sure you didn't hallucinate the entire thing, you glance down at your school uniform and girly curves. You're still holding the bag containing the magic brush, magic hanger and your original clothes. It was real. Completely real. And now you're back in the normal world.
You realize just how strange your ordeal was. The more time you spent in that mall, the easier you accepted the bizarre things you saw, and the more you got used to your younger, female body. Now that you were back in your old neighborhood, the contrast between who you once were and who you are now hits with more resonance than before. You don't necessarily want to change back to normal the minute you get home, but you feel more uncomfortable being a girl now.
The trek back to your apartment takes a little longer than usual. You thank your smaller body for that. The sun dips below the horizon before you get even halfway there.
As you walk, you notice one of your classmates approaching. He's not quite a friend, but you two spoke in Calculus a few times. As he nears, you instinctively say "Hi" to him in your cheery female voice. He merely stares at you in surprise and continues walking. You blush. Of course he wouldn't recognize you. You suppose even your parents would have a hard time seeing the resemblance under that hair and makeup.
It's getting darker now, and you've yet to make it home. You're only a couple blocks away, but the streets have become nearly deserted. You remember walking outside at night without fear tons of times, but you're very much aware of your new appearance. Your frame no longer has the strong, confident appearance it once did. You feel weak and vulnerable, anxious to make it to your apartment before something bad happens.
