Jennifer woke up on the floor, shivering. Her body was coated in a damp, slightly sticky
substance, and her clothing was tore to shreds. As she pushed herself up into a seated
position, she realized her room seemed a lot larger to her than before...
Something warm and fluffy landed on her...a towel! Wrapping it around her, she looked
up, and there, on the bed, was...herself?
"Sorry, took me a minute to realize you were probably freezing too. Looks like Kyle wasn't
joking around, huh?"
Jennifer couldn't manage to form words. It was like looking into a mirror; every feature
was so familiar. Even the mannerisms were distinctively...Jennifer.
Her double slipped to the floor gracefully, she was also using a towel for clothing. She
reached for Jennifer's hand.
"Come on, get up, no sense sitting on the floor like that, I think we could both use a bath
or something to get that goo off."
Jennifer didn't resist. She was so confused...could this be real?
"Huh. Not much of a talker, are you?"
"I...uh...sorry. It's just...so..."
The other Jennifer nodded. "Weird. I know, part of me just wants to scream and not
stop...well I guess part of you does too."
Jennifer could only nod in agreement. "Um...how tall are we?"
Her double looked around. "Well...I'm guessing we're each about half the size we were
before...so figure, 5' 8" and a half, divided by two.."
Jennifer answered for herself. "Two feet, ten and a quarter inches tall. Oh my God, what
are we going to do?"
Her twin sighed. "Ok, don't go to pieces yet. First, we get a bath, ok?"
Jennifer nodded meekly as she was led to the bathroom. It was fascinating watching
herself vault up onto the edge of the bathtub, the towel sliding off her nude body. With
the balance of a gymnast, her twin walked on the edge and reached for the knob. With a
grunt of effort, warm water began filling the tub.
Sliding down into the tub, she turned the stopper. "Ok, um, toss the towel over so I can
climb out."
Jennifer did as she was told, and was soon greeted by the sight of, well, herself.
"Well, that was a workout. We'll have to figure out a better way to get in and out, as well
as to turn the water on and off."
"Um...ok. Well, the towel seems to be a good rope, we can push the magazine rack next
to the tub and use it to anchor one half...then we just need something we can use as a sort
of...step stool to reach the knob?"
Her twin gave her a thumbs up. "Great idea. Hey um...are we going to call ourselves?"
Jennifer blinked. "Huh? Well I'm Jen....oh."
Her other self grinned. "Yeah, I know. Well hey, how about for now, you can be Jen, and
I'll be Jenny? I mean, there's no way to tell which of us is the original anyways."
Jen thought about that. "Well, we both are, right? I mean, I remember splitting in
half...one of us is the top half, and the other the bottom half."
"That's weird. I mean, if, say, I was the bottom half, how would I know anything?" Jenny
brushed a damp bang out of her face...a motion Jen found herself mimicking.
"I don't know...I don't know anything...I mean...how are we going to live like this...we're
just...."
Jenny slid down to the floor and took Jen by the shoulders. "Girl, if you lose it, I'm going to
slap you silly. We're not freaks, not by a long shot. I don't know how we're going to make
it, or if we can go back to the way we were..but I know this. We're going to make it, and
we're going to make Kyle Perkins very sorry."
"...you're right. Sorry. I just..."
Jenny grinned. "Ah it's ok...'Sis'...I"m you, I know exactly how you feel and think right now.
We just need to keep our perspective. Say, I'm curious, how much do we weigh?"
"136...oh. Right. Duh." Jen felt herself blush.
Jenny gave her 'sister' a playful tap on the forehead, and the two of them went for the
scale.
"Um...wait...with both of us on the scale, it's saying...34 lbs.? How is that right?" Jenny
seemed confused.
"I remember this from class...square cube law or something, since we're half our normal
size, we're each one-eighth our normal weight." Jen was surprised at how quickly she
came up with the answer.
"But...look, if we're both half of a 136 pound cheerleader, dammit, where's the rest of us?"
Jen shrugged. "I don't know, Sis. But because we're smaller, our muscles are smaller,
there's no way we could lug around 68 pounds of weight like this."
"Huh, speak for yourself, I'm plenty strong. Heck, did you see how easily I got into the
tub? You weren't awake when I climbed up on the bed, it was a snap."
Jen flexed her arm experimentally. "Yeah...we seem to be very strong for our size...and
that's made us more agile too. I don't think Kyle realized we'd shrink like this. Which
reminds me...didn't he want us to split into a 'good' Jennifer and a 'bad' Jennifer?"
"Heh, if that's true, I got dibs on being bad. But we are different, in little ways. You seem
smarter."
"Yeah...I guess I am. But you're the better athlete...and a bully." Jen grinned at her twin.
"Oh I'm a bully, am I? Hey, better than being stepped on all the time."
"Funny choice of words, for someone who isn't even 3 feet tall."
Jenny shook her head. "Yeah, there goes our sex life."
Jen shrugged. "Unless we go to the other side."
Jenny looked at her other half, a shocked expression on her face. "Huh...so maybe you're
the bad one?"
"Oh come on, we've thought about it before."
"Thought, yes, but never talked about it out loud. Lesbians are...."
Jen smirked. "What? Freaks?"
Jenny frowned. "Ok, point made. I don't know, it seems a bit weird to me. I mean, do I
turn you on?"
"Yes."
Jenny's eye twitched. "Seriously?"
Jen nodded. "Just watching you climb into the tub was hot as hell."
"Huh. Well...I guess since it's you, it's ok. Still weird. And about that tub..."
Jen grinned. "Yeah...let's."
