"Nine." Ernest said and went to move his piece forward but watched as the piece slid smoothly across the board and stopped nine spaces away from the start on a red square. The card spot flashed with a red light and when it dimmed there was a red card with the game's logo on the back.
Jeane spoke up, unsure of what had just happened, "It must have pressure sensitive panels, so it can tell what card to give us."
Ernest was willing to accept this until Doug spoke up, "And how did the game know how many spaces to move the piece."
"It must be voice activated or something." Jeane tried to reassure Doug as well as herself.
Ernest decided to go along with what was happening and picked up the red card and read it aloud, "A source of strength or the cause of weakness, whose legs would you take? I'm not really sure what its saying but if I could have anyone's legs I'd take Art's. He's such an awesome guy and one of my best friends. I'd do anything for him."
Ernest saw Art smile about that and then he felt a sharp pain in his leg. Grabbing it, Ernest began cursing as his legs got a more solid look to them. Then his leg began to twist and then the pain was gone as quickly as it had come. Ernest looked down at his legs and realized that they looked just like Art's.
-You can only roll one die for movement- Ernest heard the words echo in his mind but no one else acted like they had heard anything. He realized it was one of the game play changes he would have to work with. Most of his attention was on Art.
Art stood up then and bent his legs experimentally before jumping for joy. "I'm healed, I can run again." Art looked like he was ready to prove the statement right there. Jeane grabbed a hold of his hand and began examining Art's legs before going to look at Ernest's legs.
"I can't believe it, you have his busted legs and he has your legs." Jeanne said, "I don't like this Ernest, I think we should quit now. Before something worse happens. Doug, grab our coats and lets get out of here. Let's quit this Rhonnda, before we do something we can't take back." Rhonnda looked worried and looked at Ernest, she didn't want to abandon him but she was scared. Doug also looked uncertain about what had just happened and he was ready to follow Jeane out but then Art put his foot down.
"Quit that Jeane. This is a miracle and I'm grateful it happened but I'm not going to leave Ernest all by himself to deal with this. If we keep on playing than Ernest can get his legs fixed." Art said.
Jeane sat back down. "By the time Ernest can go again, who knows what will have happened to all of us." The fight had left Jeane and so she just grumble before picking up the dice. "Fine, don't say I didn't warn you." Jeane tossed the dice and rolled along the board. None of them said a word as her piece moved on to a...
