A young man by the name of Shei’Kara had come upon the ancient ruins where the medallion slept. He was a young man of only 19, about 5 feet in height, slim and often wore a few choice trinkets from wherever he was originally from, plus lengthy straight crimson hair that always seemed ot be shiny and clean, and had an odd ability to escape danger of any magnitude, having proven so through almost 5 years exploration of the world’s most dangerous and taboo locations. There was much no-one knew of him that he’d never tell someone he didn’t trust with his life, so far there was only one such person, Kar’Laurel, his aide, brother, and guardian in situations that simply being nimble wouldn’t get him out of. He stood about 7 feet tall, was decently built, had long straight black hair, and wore a few similar trinket’s to his smaller brother.
Upon entering those old ancient ruins Shei proceeded to dash wildly through the halls as if he knew there weren’t any traps or dangers from were, seeming as thought the ruins were un-trapped but also preserved perfectly through the ages, though it did still make his brother worry a bit. It wasn’t long before he came upon a large decorative chamber with a pedestal in the middle and a beam of light coming down onto a shining medallion of silver and gold appearance, though Shei seemed abit dissatisfied “pfff, this place is boring, a big straight hall leading to a huge room is totally uninteresting.” He sighed abit and glanced around boredly, but then let out an almost childish “oooooohhh” as he saw the medallion, quickly running over and picking it up to investigate it.
“that’s odd, heheh. This place may have produced something of interest afterall. I can’t tell what it’s really made of, or capable of, I can feel a strong force inside of it but there’s nothing defining what that force it, what made it, or even what it’s capable of…. WOOHOO. A mystery of the utmost complexity is before us brother…. Oh that’s not good.” Her turned around to find his brother already between him and the rest of the room “little brother, they’ve come already.” “oh how irritating, do they ever give up?” Kar gave an exasperated sigh before speaking “shall we run this time?” “certainly, not like we’ve got much chance more than putting some distance between us and them in a totally straight hall, one sec.” he hadn’t brought this pack this time as a sort of challenge, he didn’t think it would be so easy, so he quickly placed the medallion around his neck and prepared to get on his brother’s back to let him bull-doze the way through the hall, but he suddenly fell to one knee and gasped.
Kar turned immediately and knelt next to his brother “what is it? are you hurt?” Shei looked up to his brother in shock an dshook his head “no…but….it’s been relesed…”the words seemed to shock his brother more than confuse him and he quickly ducked behind the pedestal. As Shei stayed there panting heavily, as if fighting to contain something, several dark flames rose higher around the room, casting a dark light, which soon revealed a small squad of what could only be described as demons, tall thin black horned creatures in torn robes wielding twisted staves. Without hesitation they swung their staves, casting wide arcs of black light towards the boy, only to be shattered half way before a wave of shining flame erupted from Shei, incinerating the unholy beasts and, in a way, blessing the ruins around it, giving them an odd whitish glow.
Shei and Kar were both wide-eyed and stunned at what had just happened “how the? It was never like THAT before…I thought i……the medallion.” Shei glanced down at it hung around his neck, it didn’t seem any different, not even casting a glow “Kar, lets get out of here while we’re still alone. I don’t want to be around if they come back and that doesn’t work a second time.” Kar nodded and dashed to pick his still paralyzed brother before fleeing the temple and boarding the airship they often used to get around. Leaving him in the infirmary as he left to keep an eye on the crew, the medallion still around shei’s neck, resting against his chest despite the prior movement it had not jostled a bit.
