Meeting up with Marcia in the main hall, Marcia looked at him with question, not really used to seeing Rusty with any sort of scruff on his face. Although she did like it, she still thought it was quite strange.
"Mornin' Rusty! I see you are going with a more rugged look... is everything alright."
Rusty paused for a moment, replaying her words in his mind, Rusty acted like he was scratching his face when he was really feeling it to see what she was talking about.
"Yeah, I decided I want to take a more manly approach with my appearance and everything is fine."
Knowing that he barely could even grow facial hair in the first place, but never telling anyone about his facial problems, he lied... of course. The thing was, Rusty was jovial about the rough, sand-papery five o'clock shadow of his dark brown and reddish tinted hair on his face.
"So where do you want to start looking for the portal Marcia?"
"That is a very good question Rusty, cause I am not really sure. I think it would be best if we just went room by room in the general quarters. If we don't come across anything odd or unusual, like an eerie feeling or something our bodies recognize, we will search individually in the appropriate wings of the building where we spent the night. It is here Rusty... just waiting to be discovered."
Rusty knew that Marcia was right, that the portal was there somewhere, but he needed to stay away from it just encase it were to spawn his transformation into the werewolf he saw last night.
Slowly walking through the main room, Rusty began to feel as though his muscles were sore and achy, not to mention his clothes felt slightly tighter around his body. Rusty knew this couldn't be because he was of average body type and he never worked out a day in his life, but he did remember the muscular werewolf that Rusty encountered in his dream.
As they got closer to the end of the main hall, Marcia and Rusty both stopped in their tracks. Marcia felt her minimal amount of blondish arm hair stand on end as a chill went through her body. Rusty on the other hand felt a surge of power rush through him, invigorating to the last bit. Looking at one another, Rusty knew that Marcia would mentally mark this spot near the wall as a possible location for the portal.
"Rusty... did you feel that too?"
"No... what are you talking about Marcia?"
"Well... I felt a cold chill running through my body, making all my skin goose-bumpy. You stopped when I did, so I thought you might have felt the same thing."
Rusty just shook his head no. "Nope, I just stopped because you stopped and I was kinda wondering if you noticed anything... that's all."
"Oh... ok then. We shall continue."
As they walked toward the nearby door to go to another room, Rusty breathed easier, knowing that he stopped Marcia from her usual snooping. Rusty knew that the werewolf in his dreams was right, he was beginning to like how he felt. Just in the few minutes being around the area where Rusty could feel the other worldly energy, everything regarding all of his senses heightened, he felt more libidinous and he noticed that his bicuspids were slightly longer and sharper than normal. As Marcia walked into the room the door led to, Rusty just smiled... thinking about what would happen that night when the moon rose and the portal became visible. He knew that he would change... the question he had was when and why.
