You stop into a drug store to pick out a regular hair brush. The one you have works great, except you want to be able to use one like it without growing your hair any longer. You find one that looks similar. You also pick out some thin brown bands to tie your hair back. These will work much better than rubber bands.
The woman at the counter compliments your hair as she hands you your change. You can't seem to stop enjoying all the comments about it. As you exit the store and walk down the street, you try to add an extra sway to your step to get your shimmering locks to ripple even more. You feel its tips lightly brushing the backs of your legs and smile.
Your phone suddenly rings from inside your backpack. You stop walking and quickly pull it out from the side pouch. "Hello?"
There's silence on the other line for a couple seconds before you hear a familiar voice say "Um... I'm sorry, I think I have the wrong number."
You want to hit yourself. What did you expect? Nobody you know will recognize you with that high-pitched voice, or believe you if you try to explain why you sound like that. What are you going to do?
