Then I was at home, an eighteen year old girl, with memories of the past eighteen years of my life and wearing clothes that were right for an eighteen year old girl of the day, but the date in question had been changed to 2026. My little sister was now my big sister, a married mother of two and a thirty year old. I was an aunt to a five year old son and a two year old daughter. And they were over today. They ran through the house sounding like a herd of elephants and it became hard for me to concentrate as I studied my work, a complex set of equations, created in 2015, dealing with faster than light travel. I wrote out a few lines of the equation and turned back to my calculator, pushing a strand of long brown hair over my ear as I punched in a few numbers.
They ran by again, and I stood up and grabbed them by the arm. “Jacob, over in that chair, Susan, in that one. I don’t want to hear a word from you guys until I ask you a question. When your mom asks you why your not playing tell her to talk to me.” with that, I sat back down as the noise stopped, finally able to gather my thoughts enough to think about the situation. It would seem that I was now the younger sister. I wasn't sure I liked that.
