You wake naked on a metal table in some sort of marine lab. There are large tanks filled with different fish, and you hear waves splashing nearby. You try to sit up, but discover more has happened to you than simply being abducted and stripped.
A man in a Navy officer's uniform walks up to you, and announces, "You're in the Navy now. Specifically, the Dolphin Corps. It's hazardous duty, but vital to our national security. You'll be trained to help protect our ships and submarines from mines. Your country appreciates your sacrifice, son." He salutes you, and turns to shout to someone outside of your view, "Carry on men!"
A group of lab coated men come into view, as he leaves. Some are carrying syringes, others tape measures and other devices and cameras.
"Dr. Platt, the admiral is so -" the guy gestures with a syringe at a loss for the right word.
"I know, Conrad, he's so patriotic. Now let's finish modifying the subject and then we can go to lunch."
A voice in the back muttered, "I think he's humane. I mean we are changing a man into a dolphin against his will after all."
Another voice laughs, "Yeah, but he thinks this guy volunteered!" The voice belongs to the guy who grabbed you in the park.
You look down at your pink skin which is turning grey. From the waist down your legs have fused into a dolphin tail. You move your deformed arms and hands. They look more like batwings right now, but you can see how they resemble fins a bit already, You lie flat, and sigh. You are having a bit of trouble breathing, as you lift your head, you discover you have an airhole at the base of your neck.
You open your mouth and let out a high pitched squeal.
The scientists laugh. They begin to poke and prod you sending you on your journey into life as a cetacean.
