Akira felt an odd stab of regret for the impending disappearance of King Tamthis. Anyone who thought the "we had this land thousands of years ago, so its ours now" bit was a good way to approach Arabs couldn't help but be a highly entertaining diplomat.
Kyriel was not focused on the geopolitical implications of Tamthis's kitsune Zionism but on where she was relative to Tamthis, his guards, and Jasmine. When the fighting began, she, not Jasmine, would have to be the one to take on Tamthis if his true self were to be recovered. Jasmine, she feared, would have no regard for the human within the monster.
Jasmine was coming in through the kitchen, using an angelic technique for remaining unnoticed by the busy cooks, servants, foodtasters and guards. She vibrated with the anticipation of holy battle in Allah's name.
There, Jasmine was standing just inside the entranceway through which food was brought and dirty dishes taken away, waiting for Kyriel to give the signal.
Now.

Kyriel's angelic voice cried out in the minds of the four angels in the harem, followed in a fraction of a second by Jasmine's. The four instantly summoned their crosses and weapons, revealing their true seraphic natures.
"What?" said Kathy.

In the banquet hall, the two beings wearing the semblance of kitsune women, Kyriel and Jasmine, blazed forth in the wonder and terror of their true angelic natures. They shone with the divine light and revealed the wings that symbolized the power given by God. Their brightness made the guards turn away and Akira shade his eyes.
"What?" bellowed Amir Tamthis. "Angels! To me, my guards!"
Akira grabbed a leg of lamb and dived under the table. *I wish Keiko were here to see this* he thought.
Jasmine, blade in one hand and gun in the other, moved to engage the guards, trying to allow Kyriel the moments alone with Tamthis that the newborn angel claimed she needed to return him to his original self, now cocooned in layer after layer of magically induced personality shifts. It felt good to be entering an honest fight against the the abominations the kitsune had made humans into. A war cry burst from her throat.

*Now is the time* Alexandra thought as the angels and kitsune harem guards raged around her. *If I'm going to kill that abomination that walks around in Karther's body, now is the time to do it. But do I want to?*
Alexandra's eyes locked on to those of the terrified harem woman.
