While Jenny spent the next few hours trying desperately to figure out a way to get her sister to take her off, Valerie tended to the needs of several customers. Jenny was so distracted with the task before her that she barely noticed. Until, that is, one particular customer entered the store.
"Hi, welcome to Technophile!" said Valerie. "How may I help you?"
"Hi," said the customer. "I'm looking for fluorescent printer paper. Do you have any?"
"Here, follow me," said Valerie. The customer thanked her.
Underneath her sister's clothing, Jenny couldn't see what was happening at all... but she recognized the customer's voice instantly. *Kyle?*
"I'm sorry, do I know you?" asked Kyle, reacting to Jenny's voice.
"I don't think so," shrugged Valerie.
"Oh... I thought I heard my name. Sorry. You know... you do seem very familiar..."
Valerie abruptly rerouted the subject back to business."So what kind of paper are you looking for? What are you printing?"
"Oh... um... I just need regular fluorescent inkjet paper. I'm printing up some flyers to put around my school."
*Flyers?* thought Jenny. *What flyers?*
"Well, actually...," answered Kyle. "You might say as a public service to all the students at my school."
Valerie feigned interest. "I see..."
Quickly Jenny understood why Kyle was there. *You little creep! You're putting up flyers about me, aren't you?*
"I beg your pardon?" asked Kyle, mildly offended.
"What?" asked Valerie.
Kyle looked around, then said, "Um... never mind..." Valerie went back to looking for the paper.
It was at this point that Jenny finally remembered the wording of the curse-- whenever Jenny would take a form with no mouth, the person controlling the transformation, and only that person, could hear her. At this moment, that was Kyle. It was a terrible bind to be in, having to rely on the very person who had cursed her in the first place, but Jenny understood that it was her only chance.
*Kyle? Are you there?*
"Of course I'm here," said Kyle.
*Kyle, shut up. People are going to think you're crazy if you answer me. Just be quiet.*
"Wait..." said Kyle. "Jenny? Jenny Smith?"
Valerie turned around. "Oh, no. I'm her sister. I understand the confusion, though. Do you go to her school?"
"Yeah," said Kyle, finally beginning to understand. "Sorry. You look a bit like her."
*Okay, Kyle, maybe you get what's happened here at last. Listen to me, and don't speak anymore. This is Jenny. After you transformed me this morning, my sister found me and put me on."
Kyle began chuckling loudly, but quickly regained his composure.
*It's not funny, Kyle! This is a serious problem! Look... I understand you want to get back at me. I'm sorry for what I did to you, and I'm sorry for calling you a creep just now. If you want to get revenge on me, fine. You've gotten me. You've gotten me good, and you've had your laughs now. But I'm going to change back at 1 o'clock, and when that happens, it's not just going to humiliate me, but my sister too. Kyle, she doesn't deserve this. Cough if you understand me.*
Kyle coughed.
*Good. Okay, so... will you help me get my sister to take me off?*
