When Ty walked into the main building at school the following day, he immediately walked over to his locker, as usual. There, he got his books for the day, and he put away his books and supplies he didn’t need that day. Then, he walked over to the big announcement board, which was located right next to the Principal’s Office. As usual, he wanted to check up on the board to see if any teachers were absent or if any classes were canceled for the day. Then, one announcement caught his attention.
“Please pray for Ryan Evans. His parents passed away in a car accident near his house yesterday, leaving him in the care of his grandparents. Please be considerate if you see Ryan in class today.”
“Oh man! That sucks!” Ty thought to himself. “I’ve never talked much to Ryan before, but maybe I can cheer him up a little…”
Ty turned and walked towards his first classroom. As soon as he walked in, he spotted Ryan, sitting on a chair in the very back row of the classroom. Another student, who happened to be Peter, was sitting next to him. Ty then concentrated and Peter and gave him the urge to get up and sit in the chair directly in front of him, so that Ty could take his seat instead. Peter then got up and changed seats, so Ty could sit right next to Ryan.
Ryan was looking very sad. He wasn’t even paying attention to what the teacher was saying, and TY could totally understand how he was feeling.
“Hey, Ryan…” Ty whispered to him.
“Oh, hi Ty…” Ryan replied. “What’s up?”
“I’m sorry about your parents, man…” Ty said. “I totally understand. I’m adopted so I don’t even know who my parents are or where they come from or whether or not they’re even still alive at all… So, I can relate a little… How about we hang out after school?”
“Sure…”
As soon as classes were over, Ryan walked out onto the parking lot by himself. In a blink of an eye, he found himself standing in Ty’s living room, like magic!
“Whoa! How did I get here?” Ryan asked when he saw Ty standing before him.
“Oh, I teleported you here from the school’s parking lot…” Ty chuckled.
“What? You teleported me? How did you do that?” Ryan wondered.
“I have the power to do that!” Ty explained. “I can change you any way I want to!”
“Say what?”
“I can make you older or younger, or shorter or taller, or I can add more muscle to you!” Ty grinned. “Just tell me what you want, Ryan, and I’ll change you!”
“You’re kidding, right?”
“Nope!” Ty said, with a serious look on his face as he folded his arms across his chest. “How old are you right now?”
“I’m fifteen… I’m a freshman…”
“Just like me, then…” Ty replied. “Well, let’s see what you looked like in Middle School, or perhaps even in Grade School, shall we?”
“What are you talking—“ Ryan said, when he was suddenly overcome by an intense tingling feeling.
Ryan began to regress rapidly, as his arms and legs began to dwindle. His torso also began to shrink at the same time, and Ryan was now suddenly looking up at Ty.
“Hey! I’m shrinking!” he gasped. “What’s going on?”
“Nope. You’re regressing.” Ty explained calmly. “Don’t worry; you’re only going back a few years…”
Ryan quickly lost some of his facial hair as well as the hair on his arms and on his legs. He was completely smooth now, as Ty made him regress back to 8 years old, when he was in the second grade! He was now almost a foot shorter!
“Holy crap!” Ryan said, in a voice that was much higher than a moment ago. “You made me a little kid again!”
“Yeah…” Ty laughed. “I told you I had the power, Ryan!” Ty grinned, as he bent down so he could look at Ryan at eye-level.
“So, you can change me any way you want to?” Ryan asked him.
“You got it!” Ty responded.
Ryan stared at Ty and pondered what he was going to request of him next…
