The Next Day
"You ready to go Jen?" asked Naruto.
"Sure am nya. You got my pot nya?" asked Jen.
"Right here in this solar pouch. Hop in!" said Naruto.
"'Kay nya." said Jen, she hopped into the empty pouch. "Not to heavy am I nya?"
"No, I've carried bowls of ramen heavier than you." said Naruto.
"Now then," said Shikamaru,"Since you're completely hopeless, I figured your formation out for you. When in the wilderness, Jen can be in any position she wants as long as she's in the backpack. Jen's wing structure is so strong she can carry up to 500 pounds up to 100 miles. So when need be, Jen can fly you out of danger by slipping her wings through the slots here. Using her Sharingan in one eye and Byakugan in the other, she can watch out for danger, then react accordingly. Perhaps an attack or flying the two of you outta there. The two of you need to protect each other. Of course, no plan is perfect, the only variable, which branches off into mor variables, is the amount of chakra you have Jen. How much do you think that is?"
"Um..., pretty much infinite if my tail's in the pot nya." said Jen, licking her now fur covered hand.
"It's still a variable, for example; what happens if you're somehow cut off from the sun? Your chakra will no longer be limitless. Just in case, here is a paper Genjutsu bomb of me writing a paper solar flash bomb. Use your Sharingan to make more. Each flash bomb equals about 1 hour of constant sunlight. Also, when you have the time, this is a paper Genjutsu bomb of a ninja performing every kendo move every attempted, I made it last night. Use your Sharingan on this to learn kendo. Most importantly, Naruto, you're a Chunin now. You're responsible for a Genin's safe return. Take this opportunity to show that you can be responsible. You need to be able to make the right decision when the time comes and not to goof around. If you can't do that, I believe I speak for the Fifth Hokage that you'll never succeed her position." said Shikamaru.
"That's right Naruto, I'm not worried but, If Jen doesn't return safely, I'm stripping your headband and taking you off active duty permanently!" said Lady Tsunade.
"You've got no reason to worry! When I'm through with her, she'll be the strongest Kekkai Genkai wielder ever! Believe it!" said Naruto. "Let's go! First stop, the outpost town!"
"Right nya!" said Jen.
