A few minutes later...
Alicia dumped water on Randy and he woke with a start.
Now, being stranded was a disaster for Randy, he didn't know the slightest thing about survival, lucky Alicia was there, she didn't know much about survival, but she did know what was OK to eat and how to build a simple shelter.
Randy was glad to find this out, and after calming down, they got up and explored, they landed on a beach just next to a forest. Alicia led the way, and found what food was good to eat, and they had their fill.
"As long as we are stuck here, we may as well explore a little," said Alicia.
"As long as we can still find the beach," said Randy.
So they walked for nearly two hours, not even realizing how long it had been, since Alicia's cell phone was smashed when they crashed. They eventually came across a foot path and followed it thinking they had a good chance of finding help if they followed it. Instead of coming across help, they came across a small abandoned village. There was noone there, but there were some worn huts that seemed like they would make a good shelter. "Lets stay here," said Randy. Alicia agreed, but said she wanted to explore more, Randy, using more survival logic than ever thought possible said "How about finding fire wood or scavenge around for something in this village."
Alicia went into the forest area and collected some leaves and dry grass to get the fire going, and randy found a big pile of fire wood in one of the huts.
Alicia found a car battery in an old trashed pickup truck, and some wire in the car. Alicia told Randy that if she puts the battery on the wire for long enough, it should glow red hot and be enough to start a fire. He was skeptical, but Alicia started a fire anyway, she told him to keep it going while she looked for anything useful, because she wanted to be ready in case they were stuck there for a long time. She found all kinds of old junk in the village, most of it seemed it would be useless, but who knows? It could become useful in certain situations.
When randy moved the rest of the firewood into a neat pile in a hut that actually had a roof to keep the wood dry from rain, he found a trap door in the hut, he called Alicia, and she found some supplies she had collected to make a simple oil lap sort of thing. She took the container of gasoline from the back of the truck, a cup she found, a lid, and a short piece of 1/8th inch rope she found. She made a hole in the top of the lid, filed the cup with gasoline, and put the rope through the hole so the flame wouldn't get into the container and cause a problem. she lit it, and it to Randy's surprise, it didn't blow up in her face.
"You're smart," said Randy.
