You scribble your name under the 'Slave' heading, and go back downstairs.
You hand the paper over to Jack, who reads it with disbelief. 'You really signed this? You sure? You really want to be my slave forever?'
You nod. Jack grins wickedly, and signs his name on the 'owner' line. 'Well, we need to go to a courthouse to finalize this. Come on with me.'
You both go outside and climb into Jack's huge muddy jeep, where he drives you into the middle of town, to the town hall. You queue patiently for a lawyer, until you are standing in front of a serious-looking man at a desk.
He reads the contract with a look of disbelief, before gazing at you solemnly.
'This is a legally binding contract; if I finalize this you will no longer be a person under the eyes of the law, but instead this man's property. You will own nothing and must do everything he commands. Are you absolutely sure you want this?'
You hesitate for only a second, and nod again.
The lawyer sighs, and stamps the form, filing it away in his desk. He asks you for your driver's license and passport, which he drops into a shredder.
He pulls up your birth certificate and social security forms, destroying them both, and fills out a receipt for 'One Indentured Slave', which he gives to Jack. He then hands Jack a metal seal, and ushers you both out.
Jack drives you both to the bank, grinning widely, ordering you to stay in the car while he withdraws all your money and the contract for your flat. He gets back in the car and drives you to his house, your new home.
As you stand in the living room, wondering what you have done, he gets the seal and heats it up over the hob in the kitchen.
When he re-enters, the seal is red hot, and he grabs you by the neck and presses it into your chest. You scream in pain, until he pulls away, leaving a large burn in your chest.
