The woman leaves Becky's side for a moment, saying, "Hang on, dear, I have something that'll help you," before disappearing into the bar's back room. She returns a moment later with a raw piece of beef, handing it to Becky. "The raw flesh will pacify a certain amount of your animal side until tonight."
Becky contemplates the meat for a moment, before tearing into it with a zeal that chills you. Within a minute she's downed the slab of meat in large bites, blood running down the corners of her mouth. "More," she says, licking the blood and tiny remnants from her fingers and hands.
"Fuckin' A," you mutter, "Becky, what the fuck did you do?"
The woman puts her hand gently on your shoulder, causing you to flinch.
"What she did, Jen, is accept our offer. Oh, both of you are werewolves now, make no mistake about that. Becky will be an Alpha fully conscious of what she is and what she can do. Her lifespan will be extended far beyond her normal years and her physical capabilities wil be nothing short of astounding. You, on the other hand, will know nothing of this. Your experience of the full moon will be the horror of seeing and feeling your body change...for the first time...every time...for the rest of your life. You will remember NOTHING of what you do, nor will you have any control over yourself, nor will you be prepared for the nights to follow."
She fixes you with a hard stare. "Child is that what you really want?"
You have a hard lump in your throat, not wanting to believe, but realizing that what you've heard is the only thing that makes sense for your apparent amnesia. Not trusting yourself to speak, you shake your head silently.
The woman sighs sadly. "I'm sorry Jennifer, but that was the choice you made." Fear rises inside you and you feel tears starting to roll down your cheeks.
"There is one last chance, perhaps, of you at least retaining your memories of what you are from day to day. You haven't had your first transformation of course, but you have indeed been bitten. There are no guarantees of course, but if you do accept our fluids you could possibly avoid some unnecessary anguish. There will, of course, be some consequences for such a late decision.
