The five of them were still eating up their meat when the waitress came back with another tray- this one with five bowls of salad. Or at least one bowl of salad and four bowls of grass. She set down the tray and handed out the four bowls of grass to Mike, Jane, Kelly, and Danielle. The salad-looking salad went to Less.
"Uh..." Mike spoke up, "We didn't order any salad."
"It's complimentary." The waitress grinned.
"It looks like grass." Jane commented.
"Let your taste buds decide." The waitress said as she walked away with the tray.
Mike took his last bit of steak and fingered over the bowl of salad. He looked at it unconvincingly, "It doesn't look very-" But then his head shot down into it, and he began gulping the grass vigorously.
Kelly was shocked, "Mike! Hey, no need to act like an ass in public."
Kelly then heard weird eating noises to her right. It was Jane, chowing down primitively, just like Mike.
"Oh, you think you're so cute..." Kelly commented.
Then an urge hit her, too. She grabbed the bowl of grass and dove into it, wolfing it down as disgustingly as her two friends.
Less was shocked to see what was going on. He nearly squealed when Danielle dove her head into her bowl of grass. Never minding his friends, he looked around the room to see that most of the customers were imitating Mike's grotesque devouring of food. As well, there were a handful of people not consumed by hunger and looked around in fright, much like Less.
Less then spotted that mother he eyed earlier. She was devouring her salad just as viciously as everyone else. This connected with Less, and he suddenly felt inspired to gorge his food like the mother. The first few seconds of his head in the bowl, it was out of desire to be with the woman, but it then soon to bestial hunger, and he, was mesmerized by the magic food.
