... my best friend's daughter! My mouth dropped open when I realized who I had wished was naked. Maggie was only thirteen. I couldn't understand how my wish made her naked. I had meant for the woman behind her to be naked. Perhaps I should have been more specific. People were stopping and staring on both sides of the street. There were a couple of car accidents from the drivers staring at her. This snapped me out of my shock and I quickly wished that she had her clothes back on and her clothes instantly reappeared. I saw a couple a couple of men with smiles on their faces that I didn't like. I quickly crossed the street hoping that I would be in time to prevent them from dragging her off.
I reached the other side of the street and asked "Maggie, are you alright?"
"Oh Rick!" Maggie said the relief evident in her voice. "My clothes just disappeared and then reappeared!"
"I know" I said in a low tone. "I saw."
"You saw me naked?!" Maggie asked shocked.
"Ya... I did" I said slowly. I wondered how I was going to tell her that I had made it happen. She did deserve to know after all.
"Why did you have to look?" Maggie said hanging her head, obviously embarrassed.
"Well I saw your clothes disappear" I said. "I think we should go someplace else. I want to get you away from a couple of guys that I think are perverts."
"Like you're not!" Maggie said. "You saw me naked and I bet you stared like a perv."
"I admit that I did stare" I said. "I was in shock seeing you suddenly naked. I wasn't the only one staring either. It's natural for people to stare when they see someone naked out in public. Are they all pervs?"
"I guess you have a point" Maggie said. She looked up and said "Ok let's get out of here. Maye we can go to the park."
"Sounds good to me" I said.
"You can't leave" a woman said. "The police will want to question all the witnesses. There were two accidents caused by her being naked. Though how we're going to explain her clothes just disappeared and then reappeared I don't know."
"Perhaps it was mass hypnosis" I said shrugging my shoulders. Under my breath I mumbled "I wish Maggie and I are at the park and that these people believe that we were a product of mass hypnosis."
Instantly I felt light like I weighed nothing and the scene around us dissolved to white. After a second the world reformed around us though it wasn't the street that reformed. Instead the park I had pictured in my mind when I made the wish was what reformed around us.
Maggie looked around with a shocked look on her face. "How... how did we get here?" she asked.
"I can answer that" I said. "Try to remain calm and not get mad at me please."
"Why would I be mad at you?" Maggie asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Well... you'll see" I said slowly. "You see, just a few moments before your clothes disappeared an old lady had given me a ring for returning her purse that she had forgotten." I showed Maggie the ring on my hand. I then continued "She told me that it would grant my wishes. I was a bit skeptical so I decided to test it. I saw a woman behind you and wished that the female I was looking at was naked. I guess I should have been more specific since you were the one that ended up naked."
"You expect me to believe that?!" Maggie asked a look of incredulity on her face.
"I'm not lying" I said defensively. "It was purely an accident that I made your clothes disappear."
"I didn't mean that!" Maggie said. "I meant about you making a wish and it coming true."
"How else do you explain how you became naked or how we got here?" I asked.
"Then prove it!" Maggie challenged.
"How would you like me to prove it?" I asked. I was hoping that she wouldn't want me to do anything bad.
Maggie tapped her chin in thought then said "Well you could..."
