Jasmine wasn't quite as confident as she sounded. It was clear that with the mental defeat of Kyriel, the kitsune king had won a major victory. Jasmine figured her best chance was to attack the kitsune before it could coordinate its two bodies, or its kitsune and angelic powers. For the first time in centuries, Jasmine was actually afraid.
The sword in her hand transformed into a grenade launcher. *Enough with the archaic weapons* she thought. Jasmine fired one-handed, which would have been impossible for a human. Tamthis laughed, and transformed the missile into a pineapple before it reached him. "The best you can do?" he laughed, but Jasmine had already attacked Kyriel with a flying kick, hoping to disable the king's second body before it could coordinate its powers.

For Akane, this wasn't fun any more. When Kyriel began turning into a vixen, when Roberta's head had gone flying from Jasmine's toe, Akane realized that indeed, it wasn't a video game. It was a bloody conflict, and some people wouldn't be walking out of it, at least not with their psyches intact.
Just then, she heard Keiko through the strands of kitsune magic that held the city together. "Hey, Akane, help me out here."
Akane figured there was no point refraining from kitsune teleportation anymore--the alarms had definitely gone off. She sensed where her sister Keiko was, and went to her.

"A schoolgirl uniform!" snorted Keiko. "You are such a pervert!"
Akane wasn't laughing. "Roberta's dead. Jasmine killed her."
"Oh no!"
"This place needs to come down." Akane took her place beside her kitsune sister, and joined her in the work of undoing Karther's city.

"We're wasting our time here!" Luna shouted over the din of battle. "Fighting these people isn't going to make any difference!We need to get to where Tamthis is!"
"I know!" Erica answered. "But how?"
"I think there's something I can do! There's a power we haven't used yet! Take my hand!"
Erica knew that taking one hand away from combat could be fatal, but she was tired of fighting and killing to no real purpose. She quickly took Luna's hand in her own. There was a shimmering, and the two angels faded from the sight of the puzzled guard wolves.

Two angels appeared, on the opposite side of the wall from where Erica and Luna had been fighting.
"Wow." said Erica "We can phase through walls. Neat!"
The two angels moved towards the throne room, from which the sound of fighting was coming. They saw Lisa a few yards ahead of them, going in the same direction. Vicki, who had descended through a new hole in the roof, was a few steps behind.
