"Nothing left to do now, except head home", Dawn thought to herself. "I wonder if Mom and Dad are part snake now too?" She headed out of the classroom, and headed towards the front of the building. There was a little bit of confusion when she got to the stairs, but after some experimentation (and odd looks from fellow students) Dawn managed to make it down them in one piece. It felt very strange, even stranger than slithering across the cold floor. The angle meant that she had to rely on friction and her mass to keep from falling headlong down the stairs, and it wasn't an especially comforting feeling.
Getting on the bus itself wasn't too hard, but it was a little bit of a challenge moving down the narrow isle without any room to slither much. Now that she knew what to look for, Dawn immediately found the spot that had been set aside for her and all her bulk. At the back, they had taken out the last seats in the bus, and put a mat on the floor. It wasn't as comfortable as the cushions in class, but it was at least enough room. As usual, no one gave her a second look as she coiled up in her place.
Sighing, Dawn surveyed her monstrous coils. There sure was a lot of her. She was probably at least fifteen or twenty feet, head to tail, and in a lot of places, the tail was as thick as her torso. "god, I wonder how much I weigh" she thought to herself. She gave a little laugh. "I wonder how I find out? Not like I could fit on most scales..." The comical image of her new self trying to balance on a normal bathroom scale was enough to distract her for a moment, but it reminded her of just how much of her life had changed now. If nothing else, the sheer bulk of her tail meant that she needed a bit more room than she was used to.
All too soon, the bus arrived at her stop, and she extricated herself. Pausing briefly to square her shoulders and take a deep breath, she slithered up the driveway and into the house that she lived in, wondering what she would find inside.
