The girl stumbles forward and hits the ground. Suddenly, the people walking past begin to smell an odor in the air.
"What's that smell?" a woman in her thirties asked as she observed the incident. The girl shot upwards, her face a bright red. She was still disoriented, and now incredibly embarrassed. She begins to run, and as it so happens, in the direction of the boy with the ray-gun. But as her bad luck would have it that day, she slipped on a rock and fell, face first into the pavement. Fortunately, she was not hurt, but she now saw the boy with the ray gun. The boy was startled and the gun went off into the air as she slammed into the ground.
"What is that?" She said, her face now red with both embarrassment and anger. "Hand it over!" It wasn't so much that she knew exactly what it did, but instead that she was angry at the boy for being in her way. She snatched the gun from his hands, and ran to her house, clutching her pants, in an effort to keep them up.

"Kaitlyn, it's time for dinner", called Kaitlyn's mother, Sharon. Kaitlyn had thrown the gun in her closet and was watching TV at the time. She didn't understand exactly why she had soiled herself in the park, but had no idea that the gun had anything to do with it. Kaitlyn was relatively lucky that day, for when she got home from the park, there was nobody home for her to explain her accident to. She got off her bed, and proceeded for the stairs. Or, she would have, if it hadn't been for the light that was coming from her closet.
"What's this?" She asked herself, subconsciously knowing the answer. It was the ray gun. She picked it up, wondering why it was glowing in such a way, and began to waltz down the stairs, nearly forgetting it was in her hands. It fit so snugly in her palm, that it was nearly impossible for her to tell she was actually carrying this child's play toy - or so she thought.
"Kaitlyn! I said dinner!" Her mother was now getting stern.
"I'm coming mom!" Kaitlyn called back. On her way down the stairs, her cat, Bubbles, jumped in front of her, causing her to catapult into the air. The ray gun went off, firing directly into the kitchen. She heard her mother scream. "Oh my God..." thought Kaitlyn, "What have I done?" And then the smell filled her nostrils.
"Mom, are you alright?"
"Um... Yes... I-I have to go change." Sharon ran upstairs, squeezing past Kaitlyn.
"Mom, what's that smell?"
"Nothing."
"Mom, did you shit your pants?" Silence.
"Go Eat dinner, honey."
