"I think I'd like to stay male. I'm me, and if I become a female, I won't really feel like... Uh... Me."
"That totally makes sense." Randi said while rolling her eyes. "Are you sure though? I think after this next change, you can't go back."
"To make this simple. If you stay a male, you will become stronger and as such, you'll expirience those pains. Becoming a female eliminates the pain of your body expanding. Females can channel magic easier, so their magic is faster, stronger and more protective. However, males are more durable, quicker on their feet and they can conjure up elemental weapons. On the downside, magic can be reflected back to the user and can sometimes be ineffective depending on the monster's elemental attribute. The cons of using your brawn would be you in close combat, you can still cast magic, but it would be half the distance of a female. Additionally, your magic won't be as strong and you are more likely to get killed if the monster's out of your league. In the end, being a female is easier if you like changing people and using magic to your heart's desire. Being male is better if you like to be a meat shield and be very strong. Either way it goes, a female's magic at it's peak is as strong as a male's brawn at his peak." Infel sighed, probably awestruck by how much she has to explain to such a clueless boy.
"So then it's settled, I'll stay a male." Harken finally confirmed his decision. "I sort of wanted to be female but... I was born a male. My dad would probably be dissapointed if he had a daughter. I know my dad's a jerk sometimes, but he means well and just wants his only child to not be a frail weakling. That's why I try to put up with his antics, he's just pushing me so I'll be like him."
"So you're staying male because of your dad's feelings? A girl can be strong too!" Randi pipped up, obviously disagreeing with Hark's choice.
"It's not that... If I become a girl, that means I would've never met some of the nice guys on the swimming team or track team. Everyone accepts the changes, but that would mean I was a girl since I was born. That means so much wouldn't have happened for me. I always felt like a girl, and I even had some thoughts about some guys - like a girl would... But I think my dad wouldn't look at me the same. He may say some mean things, but it's only his way of telling me that he cares. I don't think it'd be bad if I stayed a boy. I always wanted to feel like what it'd be like to be really strong too..." Harken began to trail off, still contemplating about the pros and cons. This was literally a life changing decision. Luckily Infel chimed in to knock his doubts out of the way.
"That's true." Infel's voice echoed. "So you're doing it to keep some of your old friends and please your dad, despite you wanting to be a female sage of sorts? That's very selfless... I'd prefer to be in a female's body, at least it wouldn't be so awkward. Then again, your soul may be feminine, and so may your body, but you're mind's still a boy... With many weird boy-oriented thoughts... Seriously, I know you saw a woman's cleavage earlier, but who thinks about THAT? They're glands, not bongos."
"Uh... Well... Yeah..." Harken's face became flushed with a scarlet color.
"Hahah, oh wow." Randi said. "Yeah, maybe your soul's just a lesbian."
"A soul can be a lesbian?" Harken asked, honestly believing in Randi's comment...
"Uh, no. It was a joke. Jeez Hark, you should stay a boy. Your IQ is fitting of one anyway. Now that you chose your form, let's see how you do. I'll be watching over you, so don't worry if you mess up or something."
"Right then... Thanks?" Harken now focused on the task at hand - Changing Stacy. It was a test of sorts to see what he could do, but he may as well do it now. This conversation was probably going to make Harken look more like a fool if it continued. And Harken no likely seem liek da dummiez.
