The group of six gathered around a large game board, which shows a rich illustration of a fantasy continent. "So where did you get this game Richie?" A lithe girl, with piercing blue eyes and blond hair worn collar-length asked an athletic man wearing a teal Hawaiian shirt, the kind that just yells "tourist!” He has bulging dark brown eyes and his has fleecy black hair currently he is leaning back on a sofa, next to the glass coffee table that holds the above mentioned game.
"It was from a store only a few blocks away from my step-fathers house, it looks well made, and they only wanted a few dollars for it. I haven’t tried it yet but it recommends three to eight players so I thought I would bring it when I came back, who knows, it might be fun Angel." Richie replied to her. Another girl with green eyes who has her brown hair tied back in a long ponytail picked up a blue piece and said, "Its surprisingly heavy, but it’s really smooth, I wonder what it’s made of, it looks a lot like a shaped sapphire." She put it down back on the board.
"I know how sapphires are your favorite Kari, so why don’t you play with it?" A tall guy with slightly brown tan and shoulder length hair said to her said to her, with a smile below his hazel eyes. "I plan to Micah!" She said smiling, "Remember, if we get married I want a Sapphire ring, don’t worry about getting me a diamond honey" she bent over and kissed him on the cheek."
"Hey I found the a Info card," Said a man crouching on the ground next to the table, holding a sheet of instructions, he brushes his sandy hair away from his green eyes, and throws a pleasant smile towards his friends.
"We roll dice to determine who goes first, we all start where these rivers meet here, he pointed to the spot, and we look for several artifacts scattered around the continent, pulling a card depending on the type of terrain we landed on, which will determine if anything’s happens on that square, or if we draw a card from another pile. We can get cards that affect our status, movement rate, and other things like that. Once we get the artifacts we will precede to the 'great' castle in the mountains, there also will be another information help card available after the game is in play" He explains.
"Wow sounds a bit complicated, all that fit on that little info card, I wonder how it will know when to give us the other one?" Angel said to him. Richie leaned over and grabbed two six-sided dyes off the board "Well we should determine roll order now, I’ll be the ruby red piece," Richie tossed the dice; they tumbled over the board before stopping, showing a 6 and 3. Darwin grabbed the dice from the board, "Dibs on the obsidian piece" and tossed the dice, which came up as 4 and 2, "Dang it, oh well," he muttered to himself.
Angel reached down and grabbed the dice, “I want the, hmm what does this look like Darwin?" she showed the piece she grabbed to him. "He looked at it and said, "It looks like an Aquamarine to me" he told her.”Well then, I call the Aquamarine," and she rolled the dice, which came up as two 4s. Micah scooped up the dice and handed them to Kari, "Ill prefer to go last my dear" he said as he dropped them into her hands. Kari giggled slightly, "Your not going to try to cheat are you?" She asked of him. "No, I promise, I just like a good sense of what I have to beat to go first" He smiled at her.
Kari rolled her dice onto the board; they came up as a 6 and 5. She grins at Micah. "Good luck beating that sweetie." as she hands the dice over to him. Micah closed his hands around the dice and shoked them for a few seconds, before releasing them onto the board. The dice came up as two ones. “Ow, that must have hurt” Richie says to him. Micah shrugged and replies, “At least I get a better idea of what I’m in for when my turn comes around, I’ll take the green, or emerald if you prefer, piece.”
Just then the door knocks.
