Mary sighed and slipped her arm around me as well. We fell into step as we headed downtown. Mary's boobs bobbed from side to side, and she rubbed her hip against mine every other step.
Everyone we passed seemed to be staring at us. The men mostly at Mer's chest, though a few checked me out as well. The women were split about evenly, though if their expressions were any indication their reactions to the two of us were not at all the same.
Mary leaned over and whispered in my ear. "If one more house-frau scowls at my breasts I am going to smother her with them."
I chuckled and turned to whisper to her. "The way they drool looking at me they might drown first."
I was rewarded with another "Humph!" before Mary bumped me with her hip. "We need to cross here."
I glanced around and saw we had already reached Third street, and a couple blocks down the Trackware's neon sign was flashing. As we stood waiting for the light a mother puffed up pushing a double stroller. Front seat contained a tow-headed toddler waiving a toy car. The upper seat had a baby, no idea which gender or how old.
Mary leaned over and made 'wah-wah' noises at the baby, which stared at her chest and started making sucking motions. "Oh she must me hungry again!" the mother said, fishing in her purse for a bottle. "Greedy little thing, you must look like a banquet to her!" She gave Mer's chest an appreciative glance. "When you two have kids just remember the leche league takes donations."
"I--" Mary stepped back, her mouth opening and closing.
"Thanks," I said, "We'll keep that in mind. Come on hon." I tugged on Mary's hand and hurried her across the street.
"That was--" Mary started.
"--Something that's going to happen with a rack like yours." I squeezed her hand and smiled. "Yeah, she was rude and intrusive, but with two kids that young she's probably forgotten how civilized people interact."
We walked for a block in silence before Mer paused to look in a shop window. A bridal shop. Facing us were a couple of manikins dressed like life-size bride&groom barbies. I felt a chill as Mer turned her head to the side, examining the dress.
"So, feel like having some kids any time soon?" Mer kept examining the dress as I coughed and spread a hand on my chest.
"Jeese! Don't startle a guy like that!" She kept staring at the dress so I dropped my hand and stopped clowning.
"I hadn't really thought about starting a family--didn't even have anyone to think about marrying, much less raising kids with! I, hell."
I stopped and stared at the groom's paisley cumberbun. Like in those optical illusion posters my eyes shifted focus and I saw Mary had been watching me in the reflection on the glass. I turned and put a hand on her shoulder, thinking fiercely about what I was about to do.
