Alexandra stood before King Tommy, in his throne room. She drew in her breath. "Thank you for your offer, your majesty. I have made up my mind. I'm going to accept it."
"You no longer wish to be one of us?" the king raised an eyebrow.
"No disrespect is intended to the foxfolk, or to femalekind, but this, it just hasn't been good for me. I want to go home and see if I can get my old life back together."
"Very well, Alexandra, I so address you for the last time. You served our people valiantly and well, and will always be a friend to the fennec kitsune." He paused. "What kitsune did, kitsune can undo."
The king gestured, and the hair began to disappear from Alexandra's body. Her muzzle withdrew to a squashed-in nose and mouth on an oddly flat face. The new human standing where Alexandra had stood looked at his nearly hairless skin, felt his backside free of the burden of a tail, and with relief once more felt distinctively male sensations from his genitals. Jim Gilson was back.
The king made another gesture, and a kitsune with teleportation ability gently grasped Jim's arm. The two vanished.
Jim's first thought at seeing his old room was that it was lucky he hadn't had the stove on when Karther had first kidnapped him. As the kitsune teleportationist returned to King Tommy's realm, Jim planted himself in his favorite chair and turned on his computer.
"Well, I'm back." he announced to the empty room.
