"Mason, Mason wake up it's your ole' friend Hopper come to see your today!" said Henry Hopper.
Continued calling of his name Mason Dixson slowly comes to the new world he is joining. As he opened his eyes the world was a blurry mess. A few close things were in focus but most was fuzzy to the view.
Hopper stepped close as Mason shook his head trying to clear the mental cobwebs.
"Easy there big fellow easy!" beconed Hopper. "I expect you are ready to wake up and begin to learn the lifestyle which is to be yours from now on. OK big fellow try to sit up so we can talk." urged Hopper in a calm and soothing voice.
Mason felt two pairs of hands touching his shoulders, lifting and pushing him to a sitting position. Continuing to shake his head it felt odd and heavy. A deep breath and a sigh, but the sigh emitted as a snorting sound that truly woke Mason.
"Mason you look very good this fine day. The D.N.A. Flux has worked it's wonder as the change is almost complete. It's almost time to take your first steps into the new world waiting for you. The Orderly here has kept you sedated by my order for your better comfort. A period of four months has passed as the Flux rearranged your physical structure. Strong bones, tight tendons, sturdy muscles now are the makeup on your very equine form." said Hopper in a quiet and soft voice.
Mason felt like stretching his stiff feeling arms and tried his best to listen and get awake.
"Thats it Mason stretch those joints, it's something you will want to do often! Lift your right arm, please!" asked Hopper.
The arm felt strange and Mason was unable to lift it out to the side, so he straightened it out forward. The sight made Mason to shake his head and strain to clear the sight. Instead of an arm a long black leg stretched out in front of him. Bending the appendage he got a look at his fetlocks and a round hoof.
"Remember our talk I told you the new hormones the Flux choose was those of Morgan that beautiful Belgian draft horse you owned." said Hopper with a smile.
Mason turned his head and looked at Hopper questioning the word, owned since he in his thoughts was still the owner of a farm and it's animals.
"Oh I see you notice the thought of ownership, very good my friend! I see your mental thought ability has come through the flux process. Short of certain human communication abilities your mind works as it had done the past 40 plus years. Again I said "owned" because you can't own those horses or anything now that you are a Belgian stallion. As you know humans collect and own property during their lives! You my good friend, you are now a animal in the eyes of the world. You in the next few moments will stand on all fours and take your first steps into the world as a Belgian draft horse colt. Now we will help you up and we shall see how you stand." said Hopper.
A little urging and Mason found himself standing on four legs. A shaky step, then two more and quickly the rythum of animal locomotion began to ease his movements. Walking in large circles Mason began to show quick and smart moves. A small whinnie of satisfaction eeked from Mason's thick lips as he was feeling the strength of his form.
Stopping Mason stood face to face with Hopper. A soft snort and he bowed his head and face into the shoulder of Hopper.
Hopper patted the strong smooth neck of the colt animal standing there before him. "I am glad you are accepting so well the form and soon the life you shall enjoy. The long sleep has made the change easy to realise and I know you will in time thank me by being the stallion and sire of a hybrid herd." said Hopper.
Mason was quickly finding the horse body doing what comes normal. Flicking the tail and jiggling patches of skin as he felt discomfort, Mason again walked and trotted down the isle between the stalls.
"I wonder if you would care to see Alex and Jason their in the box stall at the end of the barn." offered Hopper.
A point of the hand and mason pranced down the isleway to stand looking into the box stall. A snort and cocking his head Mason oggled the boys he knew were his sons.
"Their sheep Mason, they both quickly changed in two weeks to the rams standing there. The youth coupled with the Flux left them as mental animals. They are lost in the sensous world, scents govern their movements and attitudes, they graze, and mount as rams should."
Suddenly Mason reared up and ran down the isle back to his stall and whatever inner safety it offered.
