In the event, the wall is easier to scale than you imagined. There are plenty of conveniently placed hand and footholds drilled into its surface, and taking a deep breath, you begin the ascent, taking as direct a route as you can to the platform at the top.
Pretty soon, any wariness you felt about attempting the climb has been replaced by exhilaration. 'Hey, this is fun,' you think to yourself, grinning. 'I wouldn't mind doing this sort of thing again.'
All the muscles in your arms and legs get a good workout as you scale the face of the wall, and when you finally reach the top you stand there for a moment, savouring how pumped they feel. The legs of your jean shorts now feel as snug as the back of them, and your T-shirt, too, seems a lot more close-fitting, but not uncomfortably so.
Having recovered your breath, you enter the dark passage that leads off the balcony, expecting part of it to light up as the tunnel did below. But that doesn't happen. Instead, after less than six steps the floor tilts downwards in front of you, and with a loud yelp you find yourself sliding feet first down a polished metal slide.
"Aaaaah!" you yell as you keep on hurtling downwards towards a growing circle of light at the bottom. "Where's it taking me??!"
