"Now," said the giantess store clerk, "How about some more cloths for your little girl?"
Carrie smiled, "It's tempting, but John and I are only going to be here for a few days. He's already not going to be that happy when he turns back."
The clerk smiled, "Well, he'll only turn back if you go back, of course."
Carrie stopped and looked at her. "What are you talking about? I thought nothing in Toonworld is permenant."
She nodded, "That's right, it's not. In fact, you could make John a normal man again any time you wanted. You could be a normal woman again, too. But as long as you're here, you're a part of this world. The longer you're here, the more you conform." She pointed at the little girl John in her arms.
Carrie was startled to see the baby. Before, John had been baby sized in comparison, but was still easy to see that she was really a normal man. Now, her features had softened and her proportions were all different. Even as Carrie watched, John grew soft, blond curls and cooed. "Wow!" she said. It was only moments before her former husband was unmistakably her daughter. "I wonder what John is thinking about all this?" she asked with a smile.
The clerk shrugged, "Probebly that she's just hungry. The longer you spend in a form, the more you conform to it. You don't notice it because you're still an adult woman, but she's a different story. By now, she doesn't remember anything." The clerk scratched the baby under the chin, "If you decided to move to Toonworld permenatly, she'd grow up to be a giantess just like her mother. If you leave, she'll be changed back into your husband before you return, memories and all."
Carrie seemed caught off guard by the idea, but a part of her liked it. She suspected that it was a part of her that had adapted to this new form. "It's tempting," she admitted, "But I don't know if I really want to raise a daughter right now."
"She doesn't have to stay like that," replied the giantess, "You could make her a little older, since she's a baby now she won't remember a thing. Or you could make her a pet for a while while you settle in."
"A pet? Like a dog?"
"Sure! Anything is possible here. You could make that husband of yours into a slobbering mutt or a prissy kitty. Or," she said with a sigh, "you could just make her back into what she was, but what's the fun in that?"
Carrie held the baby in her arms, feeling oddly swayed by what the woman was saying. Should she actually stay here forever? Or should she just have more fun with John?
