The voice chided Anna, it calling itself Circe, and admitting with pride to it being the life-fore of a Greek witch.
Circe plagued Anna, at every quiet moment alone, she would tell her ideals about men and their lack-luster worth in her eyes. As if taking this lovely child and indoctrinating her to the deviant ways of what Circe used on so many a traveler or sailor stopping their on her Mediterranean Isle.
Anna, although young was bright of mind and quite the well read wit, she a child prodigy, her scholastic aptitude equal then to a student entering high school. As for this ability and reason, she held her blockade of Circe doing to her what the witch would have delighted in making for herself someone with youth to become the essence of that man-hating witch of so long ago.
After the ring became an indelible part of her small finger, the voices began, mostly those of Circe, but from her sordid past came too the screams of men remembered, they discovering their transformation from men to becoming as animals for Circe to toy, play, and on occasional periodic times in every month she had need of some servicing.
The first full night while having to wear the ring, and Anna awoke screaming. She screamed so loud it awoke her parents, and a concerned mother came to Anna; she offering her daughter some consoling words.
As with any mode of communication and or entertainment seen by one so young, the mind learns an attitude, it become anesthetized to such things as listening to a conscience. Once the considerate love and concern for others ceased to be a worry for Anna, Circe was on her way to lead the youth to doing what to moral people would be as highly sinful if not mean!
At school there was this usual faction of male and or female students that felt intimidated by on so young, and bright. Anna being the equal of those who had to work hard to be high school students.
Normally, Anna was the gullible child, taking those she thought as classmates to be truthful when telling her something. The introduction of Circe and her mindset into the brain and thinking mind of Anna changed her naive attitude into one of wit, and an aggressive attitude toward getting even.
When once in the girl's bathroom, Anna felt the disdain of two older high school students, they grabbing Anna by her hair and dunking her head into the toilet water. They laughed about the deed, telling Anna she was "All Wet behind the ears!"
Anna felt quite sad, her hair a stinking mess and soaked to make her look to others at school as if to tell all where someone jammed her head and face.
A towel provided by the school nurse and a comb to put the hair on the head of Anna in some symbolization of style; Anna asked to return to her next class.
"New hairstyle Anna," nagged Betty Barnes, her partner in the crime chided her ploy, asking Anna if she felt a need to bathe even at school.
Anna remained quietly sullen during that class, as from inside her head the voice of Circe made suggestions, one being of during the next class, chemistry, that she would help Anna whip up something to pay back those two jealous females.
