You make it home, panting and completely soaked. You quickly hang up your coat and rush to the bathroom.
In the mirror, you confirm what you already know: Your hair has grown a lot longer. What was first an inch-long cut has grown into a messy crop that was at least four inches long. You now have bangs that reach to your eyes. Your ears are almost totally covered. The hair at the back of your head now reaches the top of your collar.
You take off your tie and business shirt, which hadn't been feeling right for a while, and proceed to dry your hair and face. Your hair remains a little damp, but gains a bit of volume now that the water isn't weighing it down. It makes you look rather androgynous. Definitely not a look for a professional to be wearing to interviews.
But how can this be? You just had a haircut less than three hours ago. As you remove your pants and put on more casual clothing, you're reminded how loose everything feels on your body. The pants you just put on don't usually need a belt, but now they're slipping down to your hips. Your shirt feels loose as well.
None of this is making sense. Are you sick? That might explain weight loss, but not hair growth. You sit down on your bed, mind awash in worry and confusion, not sure of what to do next.
