CYOTF

A pretty quick fix.

added 14 years ago A BM I O

Suddenly, you get an idea. Rushing to the kitchen, you use your teeth to grab the handle of the sharpest, longest knife you've got from your knife block. It's surprisingly easy to get a grip on it and pull it out with your considerably larger mouth - at least the change has some benefits - and with a great degree of caution, you position it so that the blade is sticking out from the edge of the counter. Sitting on the floor and using a hoof to hold it the knife in place, you lean forward and try carefully to get the blade under the strap of the bridle, hoping not to cut yourself in the process. It takes some work, but soon you actually manage to slip it in between the bridle and your face. Clenching your eyes and teeth and hoping for the best you quickly jerk your neck, and the bridle snaps right off.

Glad to finally have that thing off (and glad that you could get it off at all), you reach up a hoof to rub your face where the straps had left it a little tender... except, you aren't rubbing it with a hoof. Instead, you can feel four fingers and a thumb brushing across your cheek. Opening your eyes, you realize that it's more than your hand - in an instant, all the changes the bridle had caused have completely vanished and your body seems to be completely back to normal.

You collapse to the floor with relief, glad that you don't need to spend the rest of your life eating oats and running derbies. It looks like the horror's all over. But still, something is bothering you. Your thoughts move back to the bridle, and you lift it up and examine it. Does this thing still have any kind of power in it? You're tempted to put it back in your mouth, but only just having reversed the changes you decide that it's probably not a good idea. Your mind keeps tracing back through the night, and soon it's shifted to the wolf that started this. Where did it come from? Where did it get something like the bridle? Is it doing this to more people? That guy he turned into a cat didn't have a bridle or anything, would you be able to turn him back? Would you want to risk trying? Myriad questions fill your mind and not one of them seems to come with an answer. Of course, you could always try and track down the wolf or the cat, or you could try on the bridle again (it should be too dangerous, and even if it does change you again it's already broken and should come right off). Then again, it might be best to leave this all behind you.
