You stood suddenly, not looking at either Lee or Clay, "Listen..." you wince at the sound of your voice, "I just need to think about this. Just...just leave me alone for a while." Tears nearly come to your eyes when you try to talk like you used to, but realize it sounds just like a girlish imitation of a man.
Lee reaches a hand for you, but you just shake your head and press by. You go to your room and lay down on your be, trying to repress the urge to sob.
What was happening? With the changes to your chest and...lower...this was more than just hair. Something was really changing in you and making you someone else. What if it continued? Would you stop being 'You'?
You felt a warmth on your cheek and realized that you were crying. What did this? All you did was swim in that lake...
Then it hit you: the lake, the rain, the showers...
Every time you'd gotten wet, you'd changed more. Every time you'd cut your hair, it had grown back the moment you'd gotten wet. Liquid was doing this to you...
But you couldn't stop showering. Would drinking trigger this?
You sighed and sat up, shuddering at your reflection in the mirror. At a random glance, you saw a young girl on the edge of womanhood reflected. It took a few moments to see what was left of you in that image. You couldn't help but glance at your budding chest and wonder if that represented what you were changing into, or if you were going to develop faster...
And what could you do to stop it? Maybe it'd be better just to find the lake and jump in, just to get it over with...but that might erase you forever.
You flopped face down, trying not to cry anymore, but eventually you gave in. It was freeing to sob a bit, somehow...it made you feel better.
You had no idea how long you cried to yourself, but you didn't hear the door open, or feel Clay or Lee watch over you. You were only aware when one of them sat down on your bed and stroked your hair.
"It'll be okay...we'll figure something out..."
