Anna had gone on her way to the next class, leaving Betty to what might be her fate. The news of the strange altercation in the school office, and of Betty taken into protective custody, had everybody at school talking.
Not without her own sense of compassion even after the fact, Anna concentrated hard, she seeking up Circe from where her mentality had gone to hide and laugh at all the trouble she caused.
Thinking hard, Anna draws Circe into a mental conversation within her mind.
"Truly, I felt hate for Betty, but really I think she got worse than even she deserved!" Anna thought, discussing the happenings with Circe and meanwhile digging into her hefty large purse to find the spray bottle still quite full of the transferal liquid.
"You asked of me for a way to make your enemies feel their own humility, not much different than changing men to swine or cute lovestruck boys into Billy goats. What you have I devised long hence, and it works well to transfer the mental mind of a human to the brain of an animal, and visa, versa too!
I you are feeling weak at the sight of Betty becoming since a male Newfoundland dog; then get the dog and the wild and beastly Betty to meet, spray them, and the transfer will happen, reversing the process." Circe replied, her plan to return Betty to being herself again seemed highly unlikely that either an insane girl would meet with a police bomb sniffing dog.
"Oh, I failed to make mention, but you need to accomplish the second transfer in less than thirty days, as each in a different mind and body become fully acquainted with their new memories and they accept their new lives." Circe added, she seeming amused at the plight she had Anna do to her fellow student.
"That is impossible, they took Betty to the hospital and the dog went back to wherever with its master to...wherever he resides. You need to find a new way of mental transferring, and I wearing your ring do demand this of you!" Anna thought her words but some of what she insisted slipped out, and others near her heard her speak of wanting a new way to transfer a mind.
Class-change and Anna went on with her day at school.
On the bus heading toward home, as Anna sat there peering out the window and feeling concern for Betty, she felt someone come and plop there on the seat beside her.
Turning to see who interrupted her line of thought, Anna sat there then beside Arny, or Arnold, he a senior and football star of the school team.
"Are you lost, or is your present girlfriend by now too pregnant for you to want her?" Anna asked Arny, she knew of his major in helping girls get into bigger troubles, two previous girlfriends required abortions.
The overly large football linebacker looked down on the younger Anna, he leaning forward and closer to her, said then, "I heard something strange about you and Betty Barnes, something to do with mental mind transferring."
Anna played dumb, she wanted her Circean powers to remain a personal secret, or become as much a spectacle of public interest for those she had either transfered or changed completely using some spell, drug, or brew suggested by the Circe living then inside her brain.
Arny had some want and from all he had heard that day and from other rumors told of people and students knowing Anna, and how they just vanished; he felt where there was smoke maybe there was fiery truth.
"I have some big trouble and would wish if you had some way to make me transfer to be someone else, I would pay you handsomely!" Arny said, his tone of voice sounding shaky and highly nervous, as if he had a problem and was in over his head in some new sordid trouble.
"We can talk about it, get off at my stop and tell me then more." Anna said, she saying it had in her brain Circe screaming the asking was a trap.
