Furry and beastly anger engulfed Betty Barnes as she lay strapped securely to a hospital bed, still barking like she were a dog held down against its desire to run free.
Gnashing of pretty white teeth and the usual sounds a dog makes due to its limited vocal ability and the fact it has a much smaller brain; Boyce the Newfoundland dog inside the mind of Betty Barnes felt the prick of a syringe. Injected with something to tranquilize the student, she thought to be on some sordid drug induced aberration. Her parents stood near, mother in tears and a father as much concerned as he needed to remain tough and focused.
The sleepy slumbering did something to quell the troubled mind of the human, Betty the female human had a bright mind and the dog mentality in it began to use and gain understanding it never knew when being as just a dog.
Awakening hours later, the mind and memories of Betty Barnes remained firm as the dog Boyce began to think, reason, and know concepts which to him seemed as if a new sort of freedom.
Hours, days, and a week or two and the new Betty Barnes went home from the hospital, her drug problem a thing of her past; or so thought her parents!
Tucked nicely in a bed with silk sheets and warm blanket, Boyce found a wonderfully comfortable manner of living life. His finding himself then as if female meant little to him, as concepts of different genders were to a dog as the variance of scent and urges. He, Boyce found being a human female had many new and to him, wondrous sensual feelings. Boyce as Betty liked what he felt, accepted this, his human lifestyle as a far better manner of existing.
When Betty returned to school she met Anna and as much they both felt an urge to converse, friends interrupted their speaking, and talking about mental transferal from dog to human and human into becoming then as a dog.
Anna felt disgruntled some for having forced Betty to transfer out of her human self and by odd chance, she became then as the police bomb sniffing dog by the name of Boyce. Anna had consulted with Circe, inquiring as to how a re-transfer of the two minds could be a reality.
Primary, she needed to get the two, both dog and human female into a close proximity, spray them with the potion, and let the transfer happen again.
Anna tried to explain to Betty (Boyce), but the new Betty wanted nothing to do with becoming again as his dogged self.
"Listen dear human female, what you did, you did out of feeling hatred as I might do from feeling anger and fear of injury. I am what you helped make me, and being this, being even female matters little. Instead of being a mutt dog, I am better off, having a world of choice; no...no deal, I like it here!" Boyce argued with Anna, he found something he never realized existed, a far higher manner of living life and with many advantages that he being as a dog would never know or have a way to understand.
Anna looked to this new Betty Barnes as if someone feeling regret for her actions; Boyce as Betty saw and realized this.
"Might I suggest you speak with the dog, and ask of her if she is happy being then a big stud dog and finding a world of animalistic sensations as possibly wondrous?" Betty asked, as she patted Anna on her shoulder and walked then off into the crowed hallway.
