Susanne hustled out the door, tripping slightly over her large feet. They were itching like crazy now, and Susanne could feel that they were getting coarse. It almost felt like the face of a man who was just beginning to get a stubble. She really couldn't see anything on them yet, but she could feel it. Her entire foot, even the soles, was covered in it, and her ankles were particularly itchy.
There was a 20-something-year-old who always hung around her workplace, and he happened to be a huge nerd. He was always available in case a computer went down, and his nose was almost always stuck in a book. She knew for a fact that he was a fan of science fiction and fantasy, and she knew where he'd be. Nick was always around the library, hiding his head in some technical manual or fantasy/sci-fi book.
As she stepped off her porch, however, she saw that he may be harder to find than usual. A man dressed like a goblin creature of sorts scurried by her, followed by a wizard.
"Trying to cosplay?" he asked her, staring down at her feet. "Probably the most realistic looking feet I've seen, but you really should add hair, and probably grab yourself a wig. But since you're not even in your Hobbit garments yet, you probably just haven't gotten to that part yet. See you in the parade!" He marched on, with about a hundred people behind him, all dressed in bizarre clothing.
"With my luck, this is where I'll find Nick," Susanne muttered as she began to scan the crowd. Her smaller stature was proving a disadvantage in this instance, but Nick was her only chance at returning to normal.
