The movie finally ended, and Suzanne was pleasantly surprised. She figured that LOTR was just a film for geeks, but she had become quite involved in the story just as it ended. Perhaps she'd go on to read the books after the trilogy.
"Wasn't that amazing?" Nick asked, wiping away the last tears since Frodo and Sam departed for Mordor alone.
"Actually, it was," Suzanne admitted. "Who knew there was so much...truth... to fantasy stories."
Nick got up with the declaration that he was going to set up Suzanne's room for her. The guest room had become something of a computer warehouse, according to Nick, and he didn't want her sleeping in that.
After he left, Suzanne headed to the bathroom, pulling her pants up as she went. Her shrinking problem was growing increasingly inconvenient, and given how small she shrunk wall at the pool, she wondered how small she would be in a week or so when the changes would finally finish.
She entered the bathroom and immediately caught sight of her reflection, namely, her hair. Her brown hair looked shorter, and had a very slight curl to it. She caught it immediately, as she always had insanely straight hair.
Curiosity got the best of her and let her pants and undergarments fall to the ground and she pulled up her shirt. Her waist definately looked a little thicker now. Her stomach didn't just out at all, although her finely toned ab muscles were concleaded by a tiny layer of fat, but her sides were wider. Her hourglass figure was begining to fade away. She ran her hands along her stomach, internally grieving the loss and dreading the impending changes. Under the fat, she could still feel her strong muscles, so it wasn't a total loss, but she knew her stomach could potentially become a huge problem for her. A workout program was definately going to be put in place!
She dug around for some safety pins to hold her pants up, rolled the legs up considerably, and left the bathroom, her eyes focused on her huge, soon-to-be-furry, feet. She tried to imagine them covered in hair. Nick said that Tolkien originally pictured the whole foot to be hairy, not just the tops, and that was definately what was happening with her.
Her wonderings were halted when Nick came rushing back down. "It's not perfect, but it'll work for tonight. I'll really get going on it tomorrow."
Her started back up, obviously intending for her to follow him, but she just couldn't. She opened her mouth and asked the most cliched question a woman could ask, "Do I look fat to you?"
Nick looked at her, noticing how hard it was to see her figure under her large shirt. "Not really," he replied.
"I couldn't have gained as much weight as I have in such a short period," Suzanne retorted.
"It's because of your changed size," Nick explained. "Your body is shrinking, and the fat has to go somewhere. Your whole body should look bulkier, but because you're turning into a Hobbit, it's migrating into your stomach area. Just exercise; you'll lose it soon enough." He then saw her shorter brown hair, that now hung just above her shoulders. "Your hair looks better this way."
As he started up the stairs again, Suzanne followed him this time. He led her down a cramped hallway and to a door that almost seemed to spew dust clouds. He opened it and Suzanne beheld a room that appeared to be little more than a storage room. Computers of all kinds were stashed into the corners of the room, and the bed itself appeared to have been just cleared away of the machines.
"G'night!" Nick called as he left the room.
