Paul enters the outside area once more to ask the bouncer a few questions. Not knowing which was which, was a little disconcerting, but interesting. It would be like doing whatever felt normal, since Paul's sense of normalcy would be changed and he would be none the wiser. Something in Paul made him want to talk with the bouncer more than just going right inside.
Once Paul was outside and the bouncer saw him, the bouncer looked at Paul slyly.
"So... ya got cold feet eh?" The bouncer asked with his fang-like teeth clearly visible.
"No... it is nothing like that. To be completely honest, I just wanted to ask you a few questions."
The bouncer's eyes widened, surprised that such interest was taken with him. Typically, guys just entered and did what ever they wanted, never paying him any mind. Before the bouncer said anything, Paul could see that he was aglow and the whites of his eyes were a brilliant amber while the irises were a deep forest green.
"You know, you have made my night just by stopping to chat with me! You can ask me any question you would like."
Paul smiled, showing the bouncer his teeth that were just like his. The bouncer could also see that Paul's eyes had changed like his did, which meant they were both close to transforming. Unlike Paul, the bouncer knew that they would remain on the verge until they were relaxed and comfortable.
"First of all, I was wondering what your name was."
"Oh... the name is Ron, Ron Wolfe. How about yourself?"
"Paul, Paul Wolfe. It seems as though we have the same family name, but more than likely it is just a coincidence."
The two chuckled heartily and Paul resumed his questioning.
"So Ron, I was wondering... which side was which?"
"Does it really matter Paul? The reason there is no label is so you can do what you like. If you entered the homosexual or gay side, you would just go about business as usual, regardless of how you are right now. If you are gay and go to the straight side, it is the same deal. If you decided to do one and then the other, that is up to you as well. If you did do one then the other, regardless of the order, your memory would be altered to accept what you just did as normal. So there really is no judgment."
"Ok, fair enough! What side do you typically enjoy?"
Ron chuckled a bit, knowing what Paul was trying to do, but Ron thought that he would play along with Paul. "Well Paul, I like the right side, myself. The thought of going into the left just doesn't suit my style, ya know what I mean?"
"Yeah, I sure do! Hey, do you wanna come with me to have a drink?"
"Yeah, I think I could do that since Moonstruck closes as soon as the sun goes down."
Thinking it was a bit odd for a brothel to close when night falls, Paul's thicker than usual eyebrow furled slightly in curiosity.
"Yeah, I know what you are thinking and I get that a lot. Moonstruck is just that... moon struck. Meaning, when the moon strikes, the club is off limits to anyone not already inside. Really, it is just an excuse to give everyone inside a chance to really enjoy themselves, if you know what I mean?" Ron finished with a wink.
"Yeah, I think I am getting the hint! So, are ya ready big guy?"
"Yeah, how about your self big fella?" Ron asked with a sly smirk.
Paul just nodded, feeling a bit more comfortable around this guy since he was one of the only people he has gotten to know a bit since Paul first arrived on the Island. As Paul and Ron walked in, Paul noticed that Ron's ears had formed a point, kinda like a wolf's ear, but just paid no attention to it, being that it was "normal" and he knew that his ears were the same.
As Paul stepped into the foyer, Ron came behind while holding the polished silver bars, pulling the double doors closed. Then, Ron bent down at the knees and opened a small chest near the right corner, then took out a large and thick metal chain that he wrapped around the double bars several times. Once that was done, Ron attached the lock and secured the chains, then pushed on each door to ensure that they were secured.
"What is with all of that?"
"Well... you never can be too careful. Some times things in here gets a little wild, sometimes a bit too wild for our new patrons... like yourself. Both the chains and the lock are titanium, the hardest metal out there... or that we know of anyway."
"Ok, but why the overkill?"
"We just do it, that is the policy. I didn't make'em, I just enforce'em."
Feeling as though he may have pushed his limits with the questioning, Paul quieted down and just stood there. Ron, sensing there was something wrong, he moved over to Paul and just gave him a pat on the back to assure him that there were no hard feelings.
"Ya ready?"
