After the extremely awkward embrace, Kai made his way to his house with Ty in tow. Kai wasn't exactly the warmest of people, so even he found his actions to be out of line and unwarranted. Ty on the other hand just thought Kai was really happy about being able to fix up his father - which Kai was.
"So um... What's your dad like? You really seem to care about him, so I assume he's a great guy... Tiger... Thing?" Ty said, wanting to end the awkward silence between the two. It was probably going to take a few minutes before reaching Kai's house and Ty hated silence.
"Tiger Demi-Human... But it doesn’t make us any less of a ‘person’. But yes, he's a 'great guy' as you would put it." Kai bluntly responded.
"Uh, I mean like, how is he and stuff?"
"He's seen better days... But he was once a proud man who had immense strength and a heart of solid gold. He was also very outgoing, though he wasn't the smartest man around. He also raised me, so there's something that also sets him apart from the other demi-humans."
"Oh... Heh, he sounds like an okay dude in my book. But whaddaya mean that he raises you so that... Something something...Apart... Something something something... Yeah...?"
"Well, us demi-humans have natural instincts that scream louder than those of the humans'. Most male demi-humans soon chase their offspring away if they are male as well, mostly because they want to be the dominant male; the alpha of the group. If they do stay in the same area, chances are they will fight over superfluous things until one of them gets injured or killed."
"Yeesh. Sounds er... Hard."
"Yes, it is, or I assume it is. I wouldn't know since my particular family would be considered domesticated. He did occasionally try to wrestle with me out of the blue though… Here we are." Kai abruptly ended his train of thought and shown Ty inside. He did not hesitate on showing Ty where Kai’s father was.
Kai quietly pushed open the door and gestured to the twiggy figure lying on the large bed in the middle of a crudely lit room. Kai flicked on the switch, which allowed Ty to see what was really there. It wasn’t a man; it was a skeleton of one. Ty noticed the skeleton was covered in pale, thin, wrinkled skin, along with the shallow breathes the figure was taking. Covering the fleshy skeleton was a pair of loose fitting pants and a shirt five sizes too big. It appeared to be sleeping, or maybe just so weak that it could no longer keep its eyes open.
“That’s really… fucked up.” Ty meekly mentioned, not able to find the correct words to describe the situation properly.
“Yes it is. But you can fix him, right?” Kai asked again, his previous poker face changing into a sullen expression.
“I said I could and I still can! I need a picture of what he looked like before this so I can get it accurately.”
“I got one, don’t worry…” Kai said as he sat on the side of the bed and picked his dad’s hand up. “Father, wake up.”
“I am.” The skeleton weakly responded, slowly opening up its eyes. His nose twitched and he turned his head slightly to look at the doorway, which were Ty was. Ty sort of winced at the horror-movie like figure staring at him, but tried to get a hold of him self so he didn’t offend the poor soul. The skeleton’s eyes went wide, rather, they tried to. “Kai… It’s a…”
“I know, don’t worry. He’s here to help. Ty’s a good guy. Just relax so he can change you back to normal. It won’t take long.” Kai patted the figures hand and gently set it down; where as his dad – Gavin – responded to by closing his eyes. He was most likely expecting something horrible to happen.
“Alrighty, just hand me that picture and we’ll get started!”
“Okay.” Kai left the room and brought back a very recent picture, featuring Kai and some extremely large man.
“Whoa! You weren’t kidding. He looks like a wrestler or something! Annnnyway, stand back and let me work my MAGIC~” Ty commanded followed by a giggle-snort brought forth by making a lame little joke.
