Luke lifted the costume up and slipped forst one foot, then the other into the costume's legs. The material looked like real skin and fur, but it stretched tight over his feet and human legs. There was actually a place inside the dog crotch for his real genitals, and after a moment of hesitation, he went ahead and pushed himself into it. The upper body was harder, because he had to shove his hands and arms into the forelegs of the costume and pull it up over his back.
Luke didn't know how he could zip the front of the costume up, but as soon as he touched the pull with one of the paws it slid closed on its own! Looking in the mirror, he had to grin. The costume fit him like a second skin, so that he appeared to be a human-shaped Great Dane from the neck down. He even had a tail that hung down over his rump. But how could he get the head on?
Remembering how the zipper worked, he touched his paws to the sides of the open costume neck. Sure enough, they began to close in on thier own, pulling the detailed animal head over his own. When the costume was closed up all the way, he looked at himself. Wow. He looked really strange - a humanoid dog. The details were really amazing! He blinked and stared at the front of the costume. He couldn't even see the zipper any more. It all looked completely real. The tan fur, the black nails in the paws, the wet nose and liquid brown animal eyes...
Luke blinked and stared. Wait a minute! His vision was a little off, and color seemed to be fading out, but the eyes staring back at him were definately not the human blue eyes he should have. Then he realized his head was changing - the dome of his skull was dropping like a deflating balloon, looking more and more like... a Great Dane's head!
His shout turned into a loud 'woof', and when he tried to run from the changing room he fell. A muscle spasm started in his ears and rolled down his entire body to the tip of his tail. And when it faded, Luke looked in the mirror and saw a perfectly normal Great Dane. He stared at himself - this was no costume any more. He really was an animal!
