There she strains to read the exceptional small print as it is printed in a spiral circle. "Before use choose a final transitioned form by holding or wearing something animal, mineral, or plant."
Meg immediately drops the bottle. Maybe if I don’t touch anything the stuff will wear off on it own. She thought to herself. So she stands as still as she can holding her hands open out in front of her. But as luck would have it, it didn’t work that way. Several seconds later, she felt herself getting worst. Her symptoms stronger until....
Meg gasped as her body ‘poofed’ into a cloud of invisible air. The girl's empty uniform tumbled to the floor as her essence dissipate.
Moments later, Erika comes rushing in with a small heating pad. "Hey, Meg. I found..." She stopped mid sentence when she saw her bed empty. "Meg." She called, but heard not answer. She steps further into the room. The room was filled with Meg's scent. That's odd, she thought. She called out to her friend as she checked her bathroom and closet.
She called out several more times and still she got no response as she looked over the liquid that splattered her wall. Then, she spotted a small pile of clothes in the middle of her room. A white short sleeve shirt over a beige mass that Erika figured was a skirt. The bottle of the 'Salve of Transformation' lay next to it where Meg had dropped it. She walked over to the pile and picked up the bottle.
She carefully read it and gasped. She looked down at the pile of clothes at her feet. Those must be Meg’s, she concludes. She could only imagine what had happened to Meg, but she didn't think it was in any way good. She just noticed the pink barrettes and the earrings that Meg had worn laying atop the shirt. “Oh, no!” She mumbles as she tears into the pile desperate to find out what happened to her friend.
In one hand she grabs the shirt and in the other she picks up the short beige skirt, thinking her friends in need of saving. Erika’s heart skips a beat when Meg’s unmentionables slips out from beneath the skirt and flutters to land on top of an equally empty pair of white socks stuffed into a pair of penny loafers. Erika shakes out the clothes and thoroughly searches the remaining socks and shoes, but nothing. She tosses the sock she just finished searching over her back in frustration.
Meg is gone. That’s too bad. “Humph! Serves her right for being stupid!” Erika mumbles. She figures that there’s nothing she can do about it now. Meg spilled the bottle of ‘Salve of Transformation’ all over the wall. So she didn’t have anything to work with.
All she could do now was cover her butt. If Meg stayed missing she wasn’t going to be blamed for it. So she gathered up all of Meg’s clothes, her shoes, backpack, books and accessories and stuffed them into a small trash bag. She would dump them into a trash bin away from her house on the way to school tomorrow. Then, she began to clean the wall. She wasn’t very good at cleaning and she tried to be careful not to get any in her mouth. But maybe she wasn’t careful enough.
