The room stopped spinning and Jenny looked around in bewilderment, did anything happen? Had Kyle’s curse taken effect? She looked at herself in the mirror, and then at her room… nothing had changed. She ran to the window and looked outside for any signs of a change but everything seemed normal. Cars were going by on the street, Mrs. Winslow was watering her plants across the road and Jimmy Winslow was playing with their dog.
Still perplexed she ran downstairs and turned on the TV… the news… that’s what she needed to see, he must’ve changed something massive…
Nothing, it was the same useless information being spouted by the same overly welcoming breakfast newscasters. Jenny was starting to wonder whether Kyle’s curse had changed anything at all. She rang her best friend Susan and asked her a series of questions about herself and the world in general only to be treated to answers that Jen knew to be true. Everything was the same.
Checking the web didn’t return any results that were out of the ordinary. Jen shrugged, it was clear that the curse hadn’t worked and if it had then whatever he’d changed obviously wasn’t important.
Even though, as she finished getting dressed and headed out the front door to school she couldn’t help but feel anxious about the unknown change the Kyle might have made. She decided the best thing to do would be to confront him.
But when she got there Kyle was missing, in fact when she asked around no-one had ever heard of a Kyle Perkins. Jenny came to the conclusion that Kyle had somehow managed to twist his curse into a way of transforming or changing his own life through cursing her, she had to admit if that was the case then it was very clever. Either that or he’d managed to transport her to a reality where he didn’t exist, which she decided seemed rather stupid.
Eventually she gave up looking for Kyle; whatever he’d done to himself obviously didn’t affect her and after a few weeks of nervous paranoia waiting for Kyle to re-emerge she continued with her life as though nothing had ever happened. Oblivious as to what would happen next…
