Lina got a wicked grin on her face and pulled a couple of black leather leashes off the rack, "How about these?"
Amy smiled slyly. "That'll drive my mother up the wall. Let's get them."
They went to the front and paid for them, then headed out onto the street, looking over their acquisitions. "These are great!" said Lina. She snapped the leashes onto both rings, "I'm not sure what people are going to say, but I'm sure we'll be noticed."
They stopped at a crowded picnic area in the park and sat down on a bench. They undid the collars and helped each other put them on. Amy smiled, "These are... woof."
Lina blinked. One second she was sitting next to her friend, the next she was on all fours looking at a large female Rottweiler. A large female Rottweiler with a black collar and leash who looked confused. Lina realized almost instantly that she was a near mirror-image of Amy. She barked in surprise.
"Lina! Quiet!"
Lina looked up and realized that her leash was being held by a young man she didn't recognize, who was also holding Amy's leash. "You girls ready to head home?" he asked in that slightly sing-song way people talk to their dogs.
At the word "home" Lina felt her stub of a tail start to wag involuntarily. She felt almost like a passenger in her body as the man stood up and she started walking instinctively, Amy by her side looking just as confused.
