At lunch Jen decided to head for the meeting with Kyle, she had the curse now and could get revenge on the little dweeb for doing this to her. But something about his smile had her worried, it was as though he knew something she didn’t, like he was one step ahead…
She took a quick glance up and down the corridor and when it looked like no one was watching slipped into the dark, empty classroom.
“K-y-y-y-le?” she bleated into the darkness as her eyes readjusted.
“Hey …ewe” came a voice from the darkness, he started laughing, “Get it? You and ewe?”
Jen started to wonder if maybe she’d been overestimating this kid’s intelligence.
“I didn’t pass on the cu-u-u-u-rse Kyle” she said, it was hard to sound menacing when you were naked, covered in wool and bleating uncontrollably.
“Good, but it’s useless to you now anyway” He said, Jen’s eyes had adjusted enough to see that grin in the darkness. She decided she’d wipe the grin off his face;
“Tr-a-a-a-a-ansform or d-a-a-a-a-a-re?!” she asked. The grin didn’t budge;
“Did you ever play tag Jen?” He said calmly.
“Times running out Kyle…” she said back, but she was worried, why wasn’t he panicking…
“In tag there was a rule, ‘no tag-backs’, do you remember…” Jen’s heart was beating fast, what was he going on about?
“Anyway, I discovered that the same rule applies to the transform or dare curse! Isn’t it great!” He was giggling to himself, Jen gulped, surely he was bluffing...
“But do you want to know the best bit Jen? If someone breaks that rule then the person they try to curse gets the power of the curse back, without side-effects! You see, you’ve just given me the curse back!” Now his snickering increased to a full bellied laugh.
“Anyway, Now that I’ve got the curse back, and seeing as you didn’t officially curse me, I can still curse you!” Jen’s heart sank, defiantly she called out;
“Too late you get both!” He kept laughing, “You’ll turn into a slug! And I dare you to use the curse to change me back!”
Nothing happened; he really was one step ahead. He sneered;
“Now then… Jenny, transform or dare?”
