"Let's try this one.", said Jack. They entered the room. "Wow, even with the flashlights, it's dark. I thought this place was supposed to have electricity.", said Matt. "Correct.", answered Emma. "The electricity might still work. I read that the most recent tenants installed their own generators." "Really? Well, it's been years. The power can't work, can it?" Lily found a light switch and flipped it. The lights turned on. "Well, I could be wrong."
The room looked to be a nursery. There were at least 3 cribs. The walls and carpet were covered in childish designs. It looked like a daycare center. "What's this?" The one thing that stood out from the entire room was a bronze statue. It looked to be a pregnant woman, kneeling. An inscription was below it, and Emma read it. "'Ishtar, goddess of fertility, love, and sex.' I've heard the name Ishtar before, but it was barely mentioned in history class. She was a Babylonian goddess. There's a passage below this... 'And the holy lady Ishtar spread love across the world. The world overflowed with maternal love.' How strange."
They looked around some more. A box in the corner of the room held a toy chest. "Hey!" Everyone turned towards Lily. "This is just like a doll I had as a little girl! Wow!" She held the doll close to her. Everyone kept staring. "W-What? It's not like you guys never had something like this." Lily continued to mess with the doll. While Emma looked underneath stuffed animals sitting around the room, Jack and Matt stood next to the Ishtar statue. "Hey, do you think this is like one of those Buddha statues, where you rub its belly and you get good luck? I'm gonna try it." Matt rubbed the statue's stomach. "Heheh." "Oh, stop it." But suddenly, the statue began to glow, and a bright light engulfed the room.
