Odette was of average intelligence for her age but she found that her dreams may be a little lacking in imagination. Loki was a god, both powerful and dangerous, and he was offering her a wish. Odette could have anything. If she wished correctly she could have everything. To that end her mind raced.
Odette was not the sort of girl that spent her time dreaming about fantastic changes she could make to her body. She had never spent hours online reading from forums or stories about magic wishes and curses that can change the physical nature of the body in ways that could never be in real life. Odette was stuck with the private desires of a teenage girl that had encountered only the real life changes that could be made through money and surgery. And only then at a distance. This would have limited her wish had she not also have been an imaginative child.
Her first thought was for money. It was a typical first desire; to find safety in large sums of money. She imagined herself lavishly wealthy and what she could do with all that cash. Spending it was the default action and unless it was renewable it would be gone at some point. However, while it lasted she could use it to make her wishes come true. She could get that nose job she thought she needed. And tailored clothes for her new waist. But money, Odette thought, is never the answer in the movies that she had seen. Those cartoon characters who had this option always ended up losing the money for something better.
If Odette wanted a new nose she could just get Loki to give her one right now. But, it would ruin a fantastic opportunity to just get a new nose. What else did she want? Longer legs? She had bigger breasts and a great face. Loki had already made her young and fit for life, and healthy, and shapely. She could wish for hair that she make do what ever she wanted. She could ask for clothes that changed into whatever she needed. But how to incorporate this all into one wish.
Loki was not trust worthy and Odette had seen how wishes had been turned upon the wishee in ways that were unpleasant. If only she had the collective reasoning of countless other people could she hope to force Loki into following her desires. But all she had was herself and her memories. Remember in The Little Mermaid when ... Or in Aladin how ... or in that other movie she could not remember the title of? The only thing that worked every time was small wishes. Nothing too grand and she would be fine.
If Odette had been male she would have likely chosen to have mental powers or super powers like a comic book character. If she had been a Science Fiction fan she may have looked for a logical way to gain a small portion of power to grant herself more wishes. But she was safe and cautious and only wanted a little. She wanted to change her face or her body or her clothes or her hair. She wanted to be able to change things back if she did not like the change. She wanted to have control over the change. Someone who had thought about these things would have jumped to the conclusion that Odette had to reason out for herself.
"Loki, I want to be a [shape shifter with my default rest state be the way I am now] and [ in order that I don't get stuck, I want there to be a way to get back to normal no matter what happens.]" Odette did not actually say it that concisely. There was a lot of hand waving and 'ums' and 'you-knows' and a few more 'likes' than there should have been. But she got the general idea across.
Loki smiled inwardly and this time outwardly also. He had been expecting this. He knew exactly what Odette was talking about and he had promised play straight. At one point he even helped her better define what she was asking for. He knew that in time she would find this new ability would not be as good as she thought it was and when that happened he would return to laugh at her. He was a god; he was patient.
"Great," he said for now. "Here's how it will work for you. Say my name twice, and you will become 'changeable.' Make any changes to your body including your hair and a first layer of clothes by picturing in your mind what you want. When everything is the way you want it, say my name a third time to lock in that form. You will have the new form until you fall asleep or are knocked unconscious. At which point you will return to your base form. Please note that while volume and mass are not a concern, you will not be super strong, have the ability to fly, or become indestructible. Have fun." And with that Loki was gone.
Odette felt normal. She was a simple hot girl wearing only her panties in a hotel bathroom after the prom. Her boyfriend was waiting outside. And she had a new powerful plaything inside of her. And she was happy.
"Loki. Loki," She said, and there was a subtle change in her body. Like a full-body blush brought on by sexual arousal. She knew it was real.
